does anyone know of any good ways to avoid getting bacterial vaginosis or is it just something once you get it, you just keep treating it ?
i've had my second one around, but not as much. the only way i could tell i actually had it was cause my urine had a distinct odour to it and some minor discharge, not as much as the last time. I decided to get a swab done, and my doctor was actually pretty sure I didn't have one, but lo and behold, I did. results came back today and it was positive.
the good news is that when i went for my colposcopy the second time around(from past HPV that's been treated), I didn't have to have a biopsy done! this time last year, i was booked for surgery in feb to have a LEEP procedure done because of results of a colpyscopy and biopsy. i go for another pap smear in 6 months, so hopefully that will come back normal as well(while i wait for the results of the one i just had done).
what i would like to know from this community is if any of the other women in here have gone for the LEEP procedure more than once and how often it is that that might happen.

Date: 2006-12-25 09:04 am (UTC)I'm confused... Either way, I hope everything works out for you. My cousing got LEEP twice for HPV/dysplasia, and that was four years ago, and nothing has since returned.

Date: 2006-12-25 03:01 pm (UTC)the LEEP is for HPV that's been treated and gone from my system for a while actually.
but that gives me hope at least that when it is treated, it doesnt' really come back! yay!
my family has a cancer of history in it, so i'm always worried that it could potentially turn into cancer.
the BV's i've just been getting cause i was sexually active(not so much anymore, since i'm not in a relationship).
