I had an abnormal Pap 6 months ago, had a colposcopy etc. They did biopsies, but I never heard about them, so I guess they were negative. They did say my HPV test came back postive for "one of the high risk strains." Anyway, I had my repeat pap done two weeks ago and recieved a card from the lab saying my test was negative. She also tested me for gohnoreha (sp?) and clymidia. Does this paper mean my pap was normal? Or just that my STI tests were negative?

Usually I get a card in the mail for all of my paps, and all of mine have been negative. When I was tested for gonorrhea and chlamydia I had to call for my test results. I don't know how your doctor's office operates, so I can't say it will be the same for you. I would just call and ask so you can be certain.

I'm pretty sure that means your pap was normal. I had a pap smear recently (and no other tests), and I got a letter saying it was negative, too. They told me they would call me if there was anything wrong, so I'm guessing you're good!

My doc's policy is "no news is good news". They call me only if my results are abnormal, if I have an infection, or if my monthly blood work comes back abnormal.
