The fold between my outter labia and my thigh is doing funny things, particullarly, being dandrifty. It runs the length of the break between labia, and is about an inch wide on each side. It will dry out and get all flakey, and scratch off just like dandriff. I've put lotion on it a few times (just put neosporn, which has helped me with raw skin before so I'm trying it) and the lotion has helped, but it comes back and is obnoxious.

I recently had a pair of undies rub me raw in that spot, so it could be that but.. I don't know.  It has been particularly warm lately. Shaving doesn't seem to make it flare up. Just random.

It's been going on for at least a week.  Yesh.

It doesn't itch, burn, or anything like that, it's just annoying!

What is it? What can I do to make it go away for good?

Thanks!

Could it be a type of yeast infection?

Although, upon reading that, it seems like your symptoms are nowhere near as severe, so it may be another skin issue altogether ...

i have a similar problem, but it's on my chest area...i've had it tested and it's not a fungus or bacteria or any other type of infection. when i studied abroad i went to a "witch" doctor who asked me if i had a skin problem and told me to stop eating sugar. i did, and it went away. i dunno if it's the same type thing, but it sounds like mine.

I'm just thinking it could be that pair of underwear you were writing about. Have you been using a new detergent or fabric, or fabric softener etc. that might be irritating your skin? Try washing your panties in some baking soda and white vinegar in a sink of cold water for a few washes and see if that makes a difference. Hope it clears up soon!

Could it be that you waxed the area before the problem occured? Sometimes, if waxing isn't done properly one's skin would dry out and flake for quite some time.

I had a similar thing about a month ago and luckily it conincided with a gyn appointment. She said it was an external yeast infection/fungal infection. I got some cream to put on it and it went away. I believe she said she usually just applies monistat to it, or I think lotrimin makes a jock itch cream (yep women can get jock itch too) and you can use that. That's what it sounds like to me because it sounds like the same thing I had. I made a post about it somewhere on here, but I can't find it right now.
