new condoms

so I"m wondering about those new "alexa by trojan"condoms. well they claim "they're designed by women for women" I've heard this claim before and all it ever ends up being is stuff like warming lubricant, ridges, etc which I (and I think many women) find more irritating than pleasurable for regular use. I am allergic to warming lubricant and spermicide (i'm having issues spelling nonoxnyl-9 right now) I'm not a big fan of ridges and bumps etc... So if anyone here has tried or knows anything about these, I'm curious are they different? Are they better? Are they anything new? Or are they the same ol' same ol'

The cool thing about Elexa is the very-low latex odor factor. The "natural sensation" and the "ultra-sensitive" feel fantastic and don't have any weird ridges/bumps/whatever. I like 'em and that's saying something, considering I don't get off at all with other kinds I've tried.

I've tried one (if you go to trojan.com, you can get one for free!), and it really didn't seem that different to me. I don't like the ridges and bumps either, they just seem to hurt, lol. They just seemed like normal lubed condoms to me.

am i the only one that can't really tell a difference between the spirals, ridges, etc and the regular condoms? my partner bought some inpiral condoms a while ago cuz he was all excited about pleasing me even more. but it just felt like a regular condom. do i have a numb vagina or what? i can't be loose, can i? i've only been having sex for 3 yrs and i dont have it that often!

First of all, vaginas don't become "loose", they are a muscle. They stretch and elongate when aroused and then quickly go back to normal during the plateau stage of arousal.

Secondly, this doesn't mean your vagina is numb. They are a marketing gimmick. I've never felt them, and I doubt very many women can - and even less than that probably find them *more* pleasurable than condoms that don't have them. Also, the first 1/3 of your vagina is the area with the most nerves - and in my experience the ribbing etc is further up on the condom than that - so it would make it even harder to feel them :)

oh. ok. thank you. i've heard conflicting sides about the vagina becoming loose and never knew which was correct. it's always been like a mythbusters thing w/me. thanks again.

The concept of vaginas becoming "loose" has, in my opinion, generally become prevalent because it reinforces a particular sex-negative idea that places inherent value on female virginity or chastity. After all, the general suggestion is that a woman with a lot of sexual experience is "loose" and therefore not as stimulating or enjoyable to have sex with, or "used up;" while a woman without sexual experience is "tight" and therefore better.

Realistically, once you've started having sex, the vagina may feel "looser," but that's simply because your mind and body are getting used to relaxing the vaginal muscles fully, and once a woman is more familiar with sex she may also become more aroused, which causes the vagina to expand.

But no, very little can permanently "stretch out" the vagina. Some women may find that vaginal childbirth may or may not weaken or damage the muscles, but even then it's generally not as significant as you would think (and many women who have given birth don't find a permanent difference).

I couldn't tell too much of a difference with the Elexa ... except that my cooter didn't smell like latex! That was attraction enough.

Personally, I wouldn't drop the extra dollar just to avoid the latex smell. Durex Tropical Pleasures smell great and don't cost anything more than a regular box of condoms.

OMG they are AMAZING...the ultra thin (blue) are amazing...no warming or ridges (even though the orange box is warming and pink is ridges)...I got a free sample of the ultra thin and that is ALL Ive wanted to use with my bf!! I would suggest the blue box...I swear if feels like he's wearing nothing!! And I LOVE THAT!!

I do have the blue, orange, and pink ones...I havent tried the natural sensation yet...gotta add that to my shopping list
FYI-they cost the same as the other Trojan Brand at Walmart...Pharmacy type stores they're more expensive
OHH and I LOVE THE RING by Elexa too...:)

The only Elexa condoms I've tried are the plain ones that come with the vibrating ring -- and the vibrating ring was fantastic. I highly, highly recommend it. But you can get those rings in a more permanent form for not too much more money than Elexa's one-time use thingy.
