I am wondering what Bacterial Vaginosis is like from personal experience (memories is too vague).
For the past couple months I have smelled different, a bit fishy, with a slightly yellow discharge. My vulva does not itch, but is slightly generally uncomofrtable. I thought this was a yeast infection so I tried monistat which I thought helped until a week or so after the symptoms came back, so I figured it came back and used another monistat. Also, I have had my period twice, and the symptoms were the same before and after bleeding.
Do my symptoms describe BV or something else? My gyno can't see me for almost 2 weeks so I'm pretty clueless.
Thanks!

Date: 2006-07-24 09:55 am (UTC)BV infections can be extremely different between people (and between infections!) and many women do not show symptoms of BV at all; that said, when I had it, my symptoms were an overpowering, foul fishy smell (it was noticeable through jeans), a thin greyish discharge, and some mild vaginal soreness.
