hey, i don't think this is offtopic because i do have a vagina-ish question with it

the other day i went to schlitterbahn (texas waterpark chain things) and got completely sunburnt, from head to toe, on my front side. it's blistering and really disgusting.

i'm constantly attempting to apply as much aloe and/or solarcane as much as possible, but am wondering what i can do for my innerlegs and close to my bikini line. i'm afraid that it might like drip onto my girly bits and cause loads of problems. should i be worried? is there something else that won't give me bad effects but still soothe my burn? near those areas it is pretty much the worst because i didn't apply sunscreen properly there, so it really hurts.

thanks for any help!!!

I put aloe on my bikini line all the time and it's never caused any issues.

if you use a really high percentage of aloe, without all the unnecessary alcohol crap in it, you'll be fine. or, find yourself a cheap aloe plant. that's as natural as it gets, and it pays for itself in like three days.

lily of the valley makes a 98& aloe, and jason makes a 99%. make sure whatever you use on your bits is just aloe, and maybe some vitamin e, and you'll be good as new.

aloe from the plant itself or aloe extracts from a bottle?

I wouldnt worry too much about aloe from the plant, but I tend to be wary of the bottled "aloe" products... that might be a "just me" thing.

I also googled sunburn treatments and they all had similar suggustions: stay hydrated, apply cold compresses,
http://beach.lifetips.com/cat/60319/sunburn-treatments/ had some good ideas, http://www.fitness-health.co.uk/sunburn-prevention-treatment.htm was also helpful.

Good luck!

i've always found that witch hazel is great for sun burns especially when you have blistering. buy a bottle and keep it in the fride and apply it with cotton balls. i'm not sure if you can use it down south but it'll help your skin heal.

You can use witch hazel 'down south'. I acually used it directly on my vagina after my children were born to sooth the burning itching pain that was therew after childbirth.

Witch Hazel kicks ass. :)

Agreed 100%. Witch Hazel is amazing. It takes the sting out of the burn and soothes hemmaroids and torn vaginas cause by child birth, or other things.

definately use aloe... in australia there are some shaving creams for ladiesss.. and i'm pretty sure one of them has aloe in it. even for using in your girly bits.
so as far as i'm concerned, it should be okay... like everyone has said, as long as there isn't anything else added to the lotion that could make it uncomfortable.
also - i'm jealous of your sunburn. i don't like the winter :( x

If you're using aloe with all the chemicals and stuff in it, you could have some problems. However, if you use the aloe plant or the purest and simplest form of aloe that you can find at the grocery/drug store then you should be just fine.

Aloe is in almost every sunburn relief product, baby wipe, and shaving cream/razor. It's only a problem if you're horrifically allergic to it (I am).

Just a helpful tip:
White Vinegar works VERY well at relieving some of the pain from sunburns. Just soak a washcloth/paper towel in it, and set it on the areas (not sure how it would work on the lady bits) but you'll be able to feel the heat coming off your body.

Feel better!!

Aloe is very safe to use on the vulv and in the vagain. It's recommended by heerbalist to encourage healing after vaginal infections so no need to worry if you get it in the area. you can also use a calendula gel in the area and on the sunburn to speed up the healing process. Feel better soon!

Aloe can be used as a vaginal lube. If you're using a pure aloe extract, it's absolutely fine; if it's got nasty chemicals, you might want to get a purer product before using it that close to your vagina.
