i keep getting these sore bumps near my vagina. it's always been in my bikini area, like where the legs and crotch meet and it makes it difficult to walk or move in certain ways. it starts off as just a painful bump under the skin (only noticeable because it hurts so damn much) then usually the sores drain/bust and go away within a few days. it pusses, then bleeds a bit. if i continually irritate it (by chafing or something), it doesn't heal right away.. just bleeds and tries to scab. i've noticed that they usually spring up after i shave and/or when i wear tighter underwear or underwear that have some kind of trim around the legs. it's usually only one bump, but there have been times when i had a couple bumps at one time. it's pretty soft i guess, there seems like a sack of liquid above a hard something or other. this last one sprang up yesterday after wearing tight underwear and a huge maxi pad for less than a day because of my clotting issues. and i've had pelvic exams with bumps like this before and the doctor has never said anything, so i never thought to worry. SO.. what's it sound like to you guys?

i'm under the impression that it's a cyst and not genital herpes or warts because i've been getting them for a long time and it's never been more than a couple at a time. but i am a little concerned because it COULD be one of the latter. it never started until i became sexually active - when i was molested by a man who was taking cancer medication - and he never used protection. i've always wondered if that could have something to do with it, but it's not exactly something i can ask just anyone. i just remember reading one of the medication bottles and it saying something about not having sex without protection because of the risk of birth defects (mutations, really) if pregnancy occurs. so i kinda wonder what it could have/did do to me.

excuse my train of thought if it's hard to follow. i'm half dead and i can't even sleep decently with this thing.

It sounds like ingrown hairs or something similar. Try checking out the shaving tips on vp, they're really useful.

I've got that right now and they double after sex :P I always just thought they were zits and my antizit cream helps them.

I get that after I shave sometimes.
Or not.

For me, one other detail is that if they come to a head, the head itself is more yellow and surrounded by red. They're irritating. They might break from chafing or my own picking at it, it bleeds. Other times they just sink & disappear. There's not a lot I can do about it; a lot of my underwear falls on the same exact spot and makes it more noticable. Usually I just put a little neosporin on it and wait for it go to away.

I'm not sure if mine are ordinary zits or just ingrown hairs.

I've had this before, sometimes from shaving, sometimes just from heat..I always thought they were minor skin infections..pretty similar to zits, but they take a little longer to go away. I get skin infections in other places pretty easily, so much so that I've given up shaving altogether to avoid to ingrown hairs. It is usually fine, but if after you first spot it, it continues to grow, or seems to spread deeper and wider under the skin, see if a doctor can drain it for you. I've needed that once (on my arm, mind you, I'd hate to have it happen in a more sensitive area) and although it was painful, I felt better immediately. An infection is not only painful, it drains your immune system and makes you tired.

hope that helps.

i would say that you go to the doctors when one shows up ASAP (within 24-48hours) so that it could be checked to see if it is herpes. Also, they can do a blood test to check for herpes.
in any case even if it is not warts or herpes, your doctor should be able to give you meds to help the soreness go away when whatever it is crops up.

I'm thinking it probably does NOT have to do with the cancer medications the guy was on. As to whether it could be an STD, you should ask your doctor specifically. It's probably just an ingrown hair or a pimple or something, but it's better to ask a doctor and know than to worry...
