gah no nuvaring this time...

no nuvaring for me this time around...staying on depo for another cycle, it's been really good to me this round though... no breakthrough bleeding at ALL.

I just can't afford the $30 a month... I don't have that many expenses... I'm dorming at school...but books for next semester, and a $35 cell bill each month coupled with the LACK of a job at school... it just doesn't seem reasonable.

I'm thinking after the next depo cycle in April I'll switch over...

I hate having a prudish insurance program.

anyone know if there's any way to petition someone to get the cost lowered? =/

I want my period back so badly though =(

Normally, I'd say that you could try to get Planned Parenthood to hook you up, but nay, they're boycotting NuvaRing until the price goes down. They seem fairly optimistic that it will, so who knows.

Insurance? My NuvaRing copay is something between $0-10.

A lot of insurance plans are leery of covering birth control unless it's mandated. From what I understand, while it's not explicitly a religious thing, when insurance plans started to become a big thing, there was a sort of moral/religious influence (consider that less that 50 years ago, there were some states where you couldn't even buy condoms unless you were married.) Because some people consider contraception immoral and/or some kinds are belived/described as inducing abortions, some insurance plans won't cover it. I know when I first went on birth control pills, my insurance wouldn't cover it at all...several years later, they did start to cover it. My current insurance-no problem covering it. It varies from plan to plan.

One wonders though, with the cost of health care so high, why insurnace wouldn't cover the less expensive option-contraception, and yet be happy to cover the more expensive new baby option.
