(Mods : I'm sorry if there's like a big entry for stuff like this - if there is feel free to direct me to it and I'll repost. ^^)
I found a new quick trick for getting bloodstains out of underwear - Neutrogena Oil-Free Acne Wash and cold water. XD It works better than soaking, and it doesn't ruin the fabric, at least with cotton underwear. Just soak the knickers in cold water, put some soap on, and scrub a little. It comes right out. ^^ Incidentally, it also works for getting sharpie off of skin. XD
Hope that's useful for someone!

Date: 2006-05-09 10:04 pm (UTC)I think that I might purposely get a pair of underwear really, really bloody just so I can do this and see what happens.

Date: 2006-05-09 10:13 pm (UTC)However be careful not to use it on fabrics that use all-natural dyes as it can remove or partially remove a lot of that color as well.

Date: 2006-05-10 03:18 am (UTC)It took a whole nosebleed out of a pure white shirt and I've been a believer ever since.
This is due to an enzyme in cells
Date: 2006-08-03 03:14 pm (UTC)But older bloodstains won't do the cool bubbly thing - the enzyme will break down with time.

Date: 2006-05-10 02:14 am (UTC)Aww, that sucks. Honestly, I don't know if it'll work on old bloodstains, just as a disclaimer. But dry blood did come out with it. ^^

Date: 2006-05-10 09:28 pm (UTC)Actually.. when I stayed at my boyfriends house for a few weeks and was on my period I had a few small accidents in my sleep. When I went to the bathroom in the morning I just washed my panties with shampoo in the sink and rolled them up in my dirty clothes (I usually fall asleep in the clothes I wore the day before) and he never noticed. It wouldn't have bothered me for him to see it, but it was just a courtesy because he did all of my laundry.
