A few days ago, my boyfriend took me to the pharmacy. Sunday is my patch day, but it was Monday already so I just stuck the patch on in the car. On the drive home, he just started asking me all these questions about the patch and birth control in general! Luckily, I've done my research and am always being updated by you ladies. He was curious about how it gets into your system and where you can put it and what's in it...

I was just really excited that while it isn't something that he has to directly deal with (I've been taking HBC since way before I met him and I'm a virgin). I hope that you all find people who care that much and are able to educate them! Yay for education!!!

Isn't that fun? My fiance converted a (male) coworker into a nuvaring believer. He had to call me up at work and ask me all sorts of questions, lol.

When I started taking Depo, my boyfriend wanted to know everything about it, and he still comes up with random questions about it all of the time. We are sexually active, and so it makes me really happy that he's taking an active role in understanding HBC and its effects on my body and our relationship. I hate it when guys play it off like BC is the girls' issue alone, that's conceited and presumptuous.

Congrats on getting yourself a man who is really and honestly interested in your life, especially since the two of you aren't sleeping together. It's always such a nice feeling to know that he cares about the little details :)

I had an 18 year old boyfriend when I was 20 who had NO idea how birth control worked. I mentioned one day that I needed to take my birth control pill and he freaked out because we hadn't had sex that day and he though I only had to take them on the days we had sex. Although he never asked if I took them on the days we had sex. AND we didn't use condoms! (Relax! He was a virgin. I thought it would be a nice treat for him.)

It's scary that he didn't know anything and that he trusted to put his lil' swimmers in me without any idea as to what kept me unpregnant. Well, I fixed him good. Even drew little diagrams.

Good job with your boyfriend! Hopefully, he'll tell his friends and so on...and then we'll all get reasonably educated boys.

Haha... the first time I got my period after my boy and I started fooling around, he was like "Man, the one day out of the month and it has to be when your roommate's gone!"

I looked at him and went "WHAT??!! I fucking WISH it was one day!"

But he is curious and asks questions so I soon got him straightened out (and now he knows all the inner workings of my period and my birth control pills). I agree, it is great when guys take an interest :)
