I was diagnosed and treated for chlamydia two and a half weeks ago.
I was wondering if it would be safe for my partner to perform oral sex on me even though they have chlamyida and have not been treated yet. Basically I'm just asking if the infection could be passed from his saliva to my vagina.

According to the American Social Health Association, chlamydia can be transmitted from mouth to vagina, if I'm reading things correctly. (http://www.ashastd.org/learn/learn_chlamydia_facts.cfm)

Oops, sorry for the big long link. It's late, and my HTML formatting skills are not at their best. ;)

Well, the general rule is that mouth-to-genital transmission of STIs is somewhat less likely than genital-to-gential transmission. Though I'm not sure that every STI follows this rule, and I'm not sure whether chlamydia does or doesn't.

However, if he did pass it back to you, the good news is that it's still curable.

If you've been partners anyway, then it's likely that he had it as well even before that. He definitely ought to get tested, and it is quite common for people not to have any symptoms of chlamydia.

Sorry this is off-topic.. but your icon reminds me of some signs I always laugh at that say "Emergency Pulloff". Makes me giggle uncontrollably. :P

I always see the "Speed Hump" signs at my local mall, and I wonder if the designers realize that to some people, they sound like directions. ;)

Mall Security: "Hey, you two--Speed hump! Do it now, or I'll throw my keys at you! IT'S THE LAW."

For future reference, you probably want to abstain from any sexual activity with an infected partner until they've been treated (and *completed* the treatment). Re/infection is no fun. D:

I'd recommend calling your doctor/clinic, explaining the situation, and asking to be re-treated. Is there a way to get your partner treated as well? Not 'omg end of the world' but treatment is preferable sooner rather than later.
