I looked in the archives, and maybe i just missed it. But about how long does cramping last after having a colposcpy? And what are things that I should keep my eye out for? The doctor warned me of some funky discharge because of the stuff they put on the biopsy area, but I'm also not experiencing that... this whole thing makes me super nervous....and if I did miss an archived post thinger, you can just direct me there and I will gladly read it :)

i had some cramping for 2 days, but i just took some advil and it was fine, not any worse than a period cramp. i had weird discharge for like a week, but it could be way less for you...just dont wear a tampon or put anything up there, stick with a pad...
dont be nervous, once they figure stuff out down there and take care of it all you will be really happy that you never have to have one again!

ok. it's good to know my cramping is normal. i mean, i never have bad period cramps so, this bad cramping thing SUCKS a lot .

You'll probably find the most info under HPV and related issues, as a colpo is often done after an abnormal pap smear. My cramping lasted for less than a week (probably significantly less, but I don't recall specifically). The funky discharge starts about 24 hours in, if I'm remembering correctly. Check out the abnormal pap smear and HPV archives and tags and see if anything there is helpful. hpv also has great info.

its crazy,i had one done yesterday!! i was totally gassy last night and this morning im kinda gurgling and crampy. i just keep taking motrin

Cramping and breast tenderness

Is breast tenderness normal after a colposcopy. I had the bleeding and discharge for about a week, but the cramps lasted a little over that. About halfway through the week, I developed breast tenderness. My nipples HURT when I get cold and are incredibly sensitive if I don't contain them in a bra with padding to keep sweaters and shirts from laying and rubbing against them. My breasts are incredibly sensitive now and my husband canNOT go near them. Is this normal? It's been since about two weeks before Xmas and I can't stand it anymore. My doctor doesn't know what to make of this, but does say that the cramping, bleeding and discharge was normal. I also have not had sex because I can't take the soreness in my breasts.
