Spotting before period

Hi, I was wondering if anyone has ever experienced very light spotting 4 days before their period and NOT been pregnant. I had the very tiniest amount of light brown blood yesterday morning, and now today, nothing. I've got myself in a complete frenzy over this because I have been on Aviane birth control pills since August and read that while spotting in the first three cycles can be normal, what I am experiencing can mean "the implantation of the egg". I am just worried and confused because I have never missed a pill. I was late 1 1/2 hours one day this month because of confusion over a time zone difference, but even then my birth control says as long as I can take it under 2 hours, I am covered. Just wondering if people have experienced anything similar.

I would doubt very much you're pregnant especially since you've had PERFECT pill use, its probably just the hormones. I was kind of confused, did you get your period, or no?

I have three more pills to take and then I usually get my period by Thursday...so I have a little under a week to wait.

I'm sure you're fine. Take your pills and see if you get your period during the placebo week, if you don't, I still wouldn't be too concerned especially with perfect pill use, but if you still don't get it, take a pregnancy test.

Its most likely just some breakthrough bleeding, its happened to me quite a few times since hormones do crazy things! :)

I've had light spotting befor my period has started, I've also had it after my period is stop. Breakthrough bleeding is most common during the first 3 months on BC, but it's not impossible to spot from time to time after you've been on the pill for a while. I wouldn't be worried.

I'm experiencing the same thing. :) And I'm attributing it to stress --> crazy hormones.

I have - about 4 months ago. It lasted for about 3 days. I was actually worrying at the time that I was pregnant, so I think that might have had something to do with it. I saw the spotting, and though "yay! My period is starting. I'm not pregnant." but then the spotting stopped. It went most of the second day with nothing, and then started again that night. I went to the doctor and had a pregnancy test done, and when I got the negative result from the nurse, my period started a few hours later. Periods can be funny things.
