urine smell and peeing pain

I'm new here. This question is embarrassing and part 2 is very concerning to me, so please be gentle :)

My undies and pants seem to get a urine odor to them (as does my crotch) no matter how well I clean down there after I go to the bathroom. When I am at home after I pee I wash my crotch with a warm wash cloth and dry it well. When I am out I use wet wipes (like those ones for kids- not babies...) to do the same thing. I have a lot (i think anyways) of discharge too. I can't seem to think of what could be causing this problem, do any of you have any ideas?

Part 2 I was prescribed Famvir (an antiherpetic) for my shingles about 6 months ago, I usually only take the antiherpetic for a week and the shingles go away, and I'm fine. But the famvir (i believe) caused a SHARP SHARP pain in my abdomen when I would urinate (it would bring me to tears) I called my DR. and she said to stop taking the famvir. I did. the pain went away for a while but returned about 2 months later. It wasn't as sharp and painful, but more--annoying then anything. The pain has persisted for about 4 months and I plan to ask my doctor about this but I'd like to get some friendly opinions first, so I can have an idea of what to expect. I have a gyno appointment on the 24th.

About the pee smell: I get that too! I never really paid attention to it, and my boyfriend doesn't seem bothered by it, although he jokes about it sometimes. I didn't used to smell like pee. This developed sometime in 2005, maybe it's related to me becoming sexually active?

What do you mean by discharge? Is it like a thick whitish chalky discharge? I don't know how comfortable you are with your body, but does it taste sour? I think that's bacterial vaginosis, and it also might be related to the pee smell, because I was diagnosed with that sometime last year. It's kinda like a yeast infection. If it is BV, your problem is that you are keeping yourself TOO clean!

oh wow! too clean. yikes!

it's a thickish whiteish chunkyish dishcharge, it's not really sour though...

and my other concern was that i may have a leaky bladder. all things i should probably talk to a doctor about :)

my mom thinks it is probably bacterial vaginosis. she told me to eat a lot of yogurt with live active bacteria.
