i had a condom-slippage incident once and got Plan B from my school clinic. if i hadn't, and had gotten pregnant (i would not have an abortion), my life would be entirely different than it is today. i think they should sell EC in drugstores!
yeah i took ec once. i was hungry for days and i blew up at my friends (mood swings) but im so grateful for it. also it led me to the decision that i dont want to be on hormonal birth control. i agree that it should be easier to get. cost 72 dollars all together (phone call and pills combined) luckily my boyfriend helped with the cost. i had to take it a day later than i wanted to because there was a mix up with the hotline. luckily still within 72 hours but still very stressful. *t*
wowie, 72 bucks! i think i paid like less than 20 for it. argh, that makes me worry that if it was made more available that cost would make it too limiting for people who need it to afford it!!
I took EC twice last year, because of slippages (yikes.) I never had any side effects, but then I don't tend to have side effects from anything. I didn't get pregnant, though.
I definitely think they need to sell it OTC, and cheap. I got it for $30 through the student health center, which is just ridiculous. Clearly only the well-off can afford sex in this society, because if a condom breaks and you can't afford that much you're SOL. I think it's disgusting.
A friend of mine had to take it recently, and it was a weekend, and no hospital or clinic in town would prescribe it to her. She had to get someone to call a nurse and unlock the student health clinic for her. 'Twas ridiculous. Maybe the hospital has some moral issues or whatever, but it's still not right for them to push it on others... what if she'd been raped?
