Another question, sorry :P

How much does a planned parenthood appointment cost for a high school student, I'm aware the morning after pill is free but I was told there may be a cost. (the appointment line isn't open now)

It varies depending on where you are.

For example, some places may have a lower cost option based on income, however the one local to me does not so you pay the same amount whether you are in high school or employed full-time.

a lot of PP will give free service to women under 18 - the best way to find out is to call the PP nearest you and just ask them directly how their pricing works.

Depends on where you are. During high school I went to two different pphs. At one I paid like a 100 for the appointment and then $20 for each months worth of the patch. At another, I paid nothing for a pap, std testing and 3 months worth of pills.

I would call ahead of time and find out.

I (college student) paid 60 for examn, 15 for pap / yeast screening, 15 a month for the ring. It varies!

The PP i went to, they based things on my income. Since I had no income and my parents were unaware (or at least i told them my parents were unaware) of me coming, I paid a donation only type thing. Unless I was getting medicine. I had to pay for the cost of meds, but my BC was donation only as well.

it all depends. i did not have to pay either time i got the morning after as well as when i got STD tested(thankfully all the tests were Negative).
THat was because I barely worked as well as being a high school student and my state(wisconsin) has a medicare(or something) program.

PPs are like grocery stores: they all have peanut butter, but unless you can tell me what aisle the skippy is in at the Big Y down the street from me, i can't tell you much about your PP. it's always best to call & ask :)

sidenote--

i read in a previous thread that you're in boston ... pplm (planed parenthood league of mass) has an online calculator ... go to pplm.org and it's pretty visible link. you input services, your income, etc ...

i got EC from them a week ago ... i requested it online, i'm over 18 with no health insurance and itw as $45 for the "assessment" and then they called the prescription in to cvs for me and i paid another $40 there (it would have been i think $18 at the clinic but i had to work and really couldn't make it there)

I had to pay 55$ once for the EC... really, though, 55$ for piece of mind is not a lot. I never went as a HS student, but many do a sliding scale. As has been mentioned, each one is different, so we can really only give you an idea of a range. keep trying the appointment line and ask when you get to a real person.
Good luck!
