I've been told to come over here...
Nov. 8th, 2002 02:48 pmAnd I'm just now getting around to it.
**Little wave to Jaclyn**
I have a question regarding birthcontrol,
but first...
Let me introduce myself.
My name is Morgan, I'm a 22 year old SAHM.
My daughter
z03 is now 15 months.
I'm married to the greatest man in the world
(yes, I'm biased, but I've found
it's good for our relationship).
This was posted on the birthcontrol community also,
And because I'm lazy...
here's a link to past posts regarding my question here.
Now. I've basically decided on an IUD.
I've done lots of research and I honestly think it's the best route.
So, I called my Gyn and they checked with my insurance.
They don't cover IUD's...
So now I'm wondering if there is anyway to get around this,
or if I'm just going to have to fork over the $600 cash for this.
Even then... it sounds like it's worth it...
I just have to find $600 laying around.
Anyone out there with any advice?
Someplace I could start looking?
Thanks in advance,
:)morgan

Date: 2002-11-08 01:31 pm (UTC)Planned Parenthood might offer one for a discount...
If you or your husband are students sometimes university health services will cover it..
You could also write a letter (and have your doc. write one) to your insurance company telling them why they should cover it (ie: it's still cheaper than covering another kid...etc.) Sometimes being bitchy and persistant pays off with insurance companies.
Good luck!

Unvi health services will be something to look into,
as well as bitchy letters :)

Anyway, before you fork over $600 for that, maybe you should try the ring or the patch as a last recourse.

I added her as a friend, and I think I'll add you too. I hope that's OK.
