I'm on Yasmin to make my periods more regular and not as birth control, since I'm a virgin. My doctor told me last time he prescribed me it that I could use it to skip a period, so I skipped my last two periods. I'm now four days off my next period which I do plan on having, and I've got an abdominal ache with occasional cramping and slight nausea (possibly because I've got a really low pain tolerance anyway). Is this a side effect of skipping periods, or something else? Normally I barely cramp at all and only ache on the first two days of my period.

Not sure if I can be of any help, but I just had a few questions. How irregular is your period? Is it heavy and/or painful? I'm just wondering because, while it's fine to skip periods on BC, if you get a period every few months naturally that kind negates the point of being on the BC(amd IMO why be on BC unless you realy need to). Also, if you skip a period, when you do get it it'll be heavier/possibly more painful.

Could be your body trying to have a period now. Don't be too worried if you start spotting for anything before you hit your placebo week. Your body just may not like going 2 cycles without a period.

Yeah, I'm going to second this. It could be your body punishing you for skipping two periods. But then again, if you've been on this pill for 3 months or less, this could just be side effects from it.

I've never been able to skip a period on Yasmin...my body wants to bleed after three weeks and bleed it shall, no matter what I do...ha!

So it might be just what moochar said....your body just wants to have the period now.

Yeah, who really knows?

Eveyone's body has a different quirk.

i have endometriosis, and a lot of girls with endo skip periods so they aren't in so much pain all the time. i tried it once, and will never do it again, i was in so much pain i thought i was gonna die! my dr. said that some women don't do so well skipping periods and told me it pry wasn't a good idea to try it again, which kinda sucked...i don't know if this helps or not, but i feel where you're coming from!
