I just found the article about using boric acid to treat yeasties by accident and I was just curious to see what everyone thought and using boric acid while you were using Nuvaring?? I have a dr appt. monday to see if i have one but for future reference I was wondering how safe it was??

There are many uses for boric acid including treating yeast infections.

It is indeed used to kill cockroaches and used for direct application into eyes that are infected and to treat and prevent yeast infections. All safely (though it's poisonous if eaten).

It's marvelous stuff!

I used it with my nuvaring without obvious negative consequences (i.e. I didn't see any deterioration of the plastic or get pregnant) but I felt like it might not be the best idea.
(And, though likely totally unrelated, I did end up with 6 blood clots in my lungs shortly thereafter....)

The nuvaring instructions indicate that you are not to use anything else vaginally. It may affect the efficacy of the ring.
