Hi, this is my first post here, since the FAQs have been really helpful with past concerns, only this hasn't really been raised before.

I was wondering if anyone else had experience of their periods getting back to normal (or rather not getting back to normal) after an abortion?

I had a termination by suction two months ago (I was less than eight weeks along, got pregnant while on the pill) and the bleeding afterwards lasted for three weeks: until my withdrawal bleed/ period from my first cycle of pills. I started my second period after the abortion three days ago (just as my boyfriend and I were jumping in bed together - typical) but it lasted less than 24 hours.

I've looked through all the leaflets from the hospital which I've kept in case of problems, but none of them mention my period being strange. The first period was incredibly heavy and painful, even though I'd been bleeding steadily for three weeks previously, so I would've thought that would have been light if my body was compensating for the bleeding before?

Any thoughts?

if you arent in massive pain, i might wait another month or so before worrying, it took me 3 months to get back to normal after my first abortion...
i dont remember what it was like the second time, i was really out of it then..
the whole experience really freaks out your system. but im sure you know that. *positive thoughts*

definitely give it a few months, unless you are bleeding very heavily, passing large clots, or are, of course, in a lot of pain. My periods were very strange for 3-4 months following mine.
