Clear fluid

I have been encountering a strange phenomenon when I wear tampons lately. Especially towards the end of my cycle. I will have rushes of discharge of thin, clear, odorless fluid from my vagina. It is not urine and it is not menstrual blood or mucous. It only happens when I'm wearing a tampon, and it can be enough to soak my panties (or, pantiliners--I have wised up and started wearing them during this time). I'm 31 and don't remember this happening until the last year or so. Any wisdom? It isn't so much worrisome as it is bothersome. Thanks!

I get this too!! I've been assuming that it's just my body flushing things out. Before I started wearing pantiliners, I was changing my panties once or twice a day...it was really annoying. I get a bit of an odor, but it's a healthy, girly-musty odor. The fluid seems to be pretty watery. I seem to get this a few days after I ovulate (that's what you mean by the end of your cycle right? sometime between ovulation and your next menstruation?). I don't really have any recollection of this happening beyond a couple of years ago, but it could be that I just wasn't paying as much attention to things like this (which I didn't).

I'll be curious to see if this turns out to be a common thing or not. I've been wondering lately what it actually is.

Oh, I should have clarified that it usually happens at the end of my period. It does happen on occasion when I am not bleeding, but it reliably happens whenever I wear tampons, as my blood tapers off. But it sounds like exactly the same thing you describe! It sounds a lot like what people describe female ejaculate to be like...wondering if it has anything to do with whatever glands are responsible for that. I don't ejaculate so I don't know for sure...

Lol, yeah, it certainly does seem to gush like what they say some women's ejaculations do. I'm pretty sure that I do ejaculate, from masturbation anyway, because I use an orange (don't laugh -- that's the color it came in! XD ) dildo, and it's easy to see the (what I think is) ejaculate against the orange. What seems to be my ejaculate is a small amount (maybe 1/2 tsp, sometimes only a couple of drops) of an opaque, milky liquid. There was an article posted here recently that said that female ejaculate could vary in color and opacity from white to clear, and that the amount and force of it could vary from a trickle to a gush...

Oh! Back on topic. I'm not quite sure what that is that you're experiencing. If you have a long menstruation, it might be the beginning of your ovulation. This would make sense if you're recently coming off hormonal birth control, which would explain why you're only just now noticing it. But if you're currently on any hormonal birth control, that's definitely not it, since you wouldn't be ovulating.

Since you're wearing tampons when it happens, how do you notice it? Does it soak through your tampon?

Now I'm curious about what I'm experiencing! I'm scheduled for a re-pap in July, I'll have to remember to ask my gyno about it...

I get this for a few days AFTER my period. Like I won't be wearing tampons anymore but randomly a bunch of fluid will just gush out and my panties get soaked. It's clear and thin and doesn't smell, I thought it was pee but I realized I wasn't peeing myself.. I figured my vag was just self-cleansing after everything, but meh.
