i was wondering if anyone who uses acidophilous to treat yeast infections has ever had a problem with it. i've been using it with great results, and i think i might have over dosed. i usually use the caps that have powder in them, but the other day i used a liquid gel and just punctured it. my yeast infection appears to be gone, but i'm itching/burning like crazy, in an allergic/irritation sort of way. i'm also a little puffier than usual in that area. did i overdo the acidophilous?

also, what is safe to use on that area for non-yeast itching? can i use hydrocortizone creams?

you might have had a slight reaction to an additive in the acidophilous...thats the only thing i can think of.

& yes. you can use hydrocortizone creams....they're fabulous to use for irritations in that area.

I take the liquid gels orally, I've never even seen the powder caps anywhere. I decided once to try to insert 1 of the gels in my vagina because I had started antibiotics & didn't want to get a YI of course. I figurd it would work better than taking them orally.

THe next day, to be honest, was hell. I didn't even have a YI, yet the next day there was so much irritation, redness, itching, & discharge I thought I had devloped one. It was insane. By the next day I felt loads better, & by the day after that it was like nothing ever happened. I think I just had a reaction & my body didn't like the stuff.

I just stick to taking them orally now. I doubt you overdid it as much as it just bothered your system. Give it a few days & see how you feel.
