I just found out that my gyno doesnt perscribe EC and I cant get it from any other gyno or my regular doctor.

The one time that I had to get it perscribed to me they gave me a pack of birth control and made me take 4 in the morning and 4 in the evening. I got sick, but I think I might as well do that with the birth control packs I already have. Problem is, they gave me a strange birth control to take and I only have Ortho Tri Cyclen Lo.


Is there a difference?
What should I do? (Besides getting a new gyno, how worthless.)

Have you called Planned Parenthood? A lot of them can phone some EC into a nearby pharmacy for you.

The last time I got EC that's waht it was; a monophasic birth controll that I had to take 4 of then 4 more 12 hours later. EC isn't just one magical pill that you take, it's basically giving your body a VERY high amount of horomones in a short period of time as to create an invironment that isn't favorable for egg attachment (or at least that's always how I've heard it explained).

it seems odd to me that your gyno wouldn't perscribe EC... is there any particular reason??

My gyno won't prescribe EC, either.. It's always struck me as a bit strange. =/
