I went in for surgery Tuesday, and before they knocked me out, they gave me something through my IV that made my cooter itch.. really, really badly, but then it stopped. Does anybody know what that was?

Probably some kind of pain killer! They gave me something after my surgery 2 weeks ago through my IV that they told me would make my nose itch and it totally did. So weird. I was just waking up, so I don't remember much! :)

You still remember something from right before they knocked you out? Wow, I never even remembered the anesthesist's name after surgery :)

Weird things happen to your body when it gets knocked out, though. I suppose it can also make you itchy.

Opiates can cause itching sensations.

Opiates can cause flushing and itching. I know that iodine makes one warm and super tingly and the contrast dyes for MRIs can make one buzzy and tingly, but you wouldn't be getting either one before surgery.

Do you happen to remember a particular *taste*? Opiates via IV always taste a bit bitter and acrid to me.

Yeah, I liked the "cooter" too.

Tee hee, your icon reminds me of my ex-boyfriend.

Sorry that was totally OT but...couldn't help myself.
