I noticed that Gillette put out a new razor in the Venus line...

One that vibrates.

Here's my question. I still live at home, and I have an old-school mom. Who would totally flip if she found out that I had an actual vibrator. Has anyone tried the Venus Vibrance razor (either as an actual razor, or doubling as a vibrator, or even solely as a vibrator)? If so, any thoughts?

I'm sure people out there have tried it, though I haven't. But hey, I use whatever's around if I'm desperate, LOL.

You can get those little bullet vibrators that are so tiny and easy to hide. They're like the size of my pinky finger and I love 'em.

I seriously doubt it vibrates very much, at all. If it vibrated as much as a real vibrator, how could you shave with it? O_o

I haven't tried the new Venus razor for normal or euphemistic purposes, but my roommate had a mach 3 vibrating razor and the vibrations were very subtle. Everyone is different, but I seriously doubt it would be sufficient stimulation for most people. I mean, it's gentle enough that it won't shake and cut the skin when pressed to it- so the vibration is mostly muffled with contact.

Definitely I would just get a real vibe, either one that looks like something cutesy like a rubber duck, or a normal one and hide it really well.

I almost bought one the other day, because I'd downgraded to the cheaper Sensor...but, quickly decided I needed another Venus. My main concern was whether or not it as water-proof, and since it didn't seem to come with a shower caddy deal like the rest, I figured it wasn't safe to store it there. (Please, someone correct me if I'm wrong.)

And, don't feel weird or anything...I had the same thoughts. Then again...I'm also searching for the "right" showerhead...if you catch my drift.

mine came with a shower caddy thing (i dunno what to call it either) also, it says inside the packaging it's safe for a shower.

gives a really close shave too.

She is no doubt thinking to use the handle portion of it as a vibe...not the actual blade!

This is the first time I've heard of a vibrating razor, and I am absolutely aghast. *How* can it be advantageous to have a sharp object, right next to your skin, that is going to move of its own accord?!?

*blink blink*

I have a vibrating razor (Gilette Mach3 Turbo or whatever it's called), and I think it's worthless. It doesn't shave any better than a standard razor, and it cost about twice as much. It never occurred to me to use it as a vibrator, but its vibrations are so subtle I don't think you could use it for any kind of stimulation.

From: [identity profile] smolderingstars.livejournal.com
Actually, my Mach3 Turbo worked a lot better for me than my old Venus, but yeah. Agreed on the stimulation thing.

If you are looking for a household object you can use as a vibrator, an electric toothbrush works really well. (Obviously you point the bristles away from your skin.)

Hand-held showerheads are fantastic too, if getting one of those is an option. (And they're great for shampooing!)

I totally second the electric toothbrush. <- it actually works better for me than most vibrators.
And... of course showerheads.
=)

Get one of those vibe hairbrushes! They also have cute little animal"massagers" at wamart lady bigs n stuff. Im really suprised they havent come up with a vibe in guise of toothbrush because someone COULD wanna borrow your lipstick(and discover its a vibe) but never your toothbrush!

From: [identity profile] whoa-breathe.livejournal.com
Yeah, check out the store for "massagers" you could say you use it for your neck or back...no one would ever know. ;)

I've also mentioned this before, but a friend of mine swears by those old squiggle wiggle writers. They're still available, if not "cool" anymore.

BTW, maybe you should buy a vibe for your mom and get her to loosen up a bit. When my mom found my vibe she just laughed and then I showed her how the shaft rotates.

I have the Vibrance, and it's fine as a regular razor, but honestly, turning the vibration on doesn't do crap for improving the shave...in fact I think it works better with the vibration mode off and just using it as a regular razor.

Haven't tried using it for any other purposes. I think it would only work good as a vibrator if you are *highly* sensitive and need very gentle/light stimulation...if you're used to regular vibrators it's gonna be pretty damned weak.

LOL, sad, embarrasing but i have. My husband is still a tight ass and doesnt like toys. (mainly his ex rinued it) if you remove the razor attachment. it does put out low vibrations but after about 4 or 5 minutes did the trick.

I tend to get a much better shave with an electric razor. I have the remington wet/dry. . .and those have no choice but vibing. . .

I wonder if 'calling yourself' counts as a double entendre?
