[identity profile] blue-art.livejournal.com posting in [community profile] vaginapagina

ok girls, this isnt about me but about my fiance (who is male)
i posted this on the phallicpregunta site, but havent gotten any comments (damn boys) so figured I would try my luck here.

for a while now, he has been complaning about having a throbbing pain in his penis that comes and goes. he says it feels like where that major vein is and that the pain "takes his breath away". this may or may not happen after or when he gets hard. he says it usually lasts under an hour and not every day or even every week.

i of course, told him to make a drs. apt. which he will.. but since i am not a guy, i have no idea what this may be.

background on us:
we are both faithful.
i have tested positive for HPV (non genital warts type, just abnormal cells) about 6 months ago but my obgyn says that it shouldn't affect him. (she could be wrong, sometimes doctors are).
neither of us have any other types of STIS/D's

any help would be great and thanks in advance!

Yikes!

I have no idea what that is, but I would suggest seeing a doc immediately. That sounds like something pretty serious.

maybe there is a 'blockage' or a narrowing in his 'main vein' that is not allowing enough blood flow to circulate. trust me when i say this, it is very painful. i get this in my *i have rhenauds disease*

now he must get this checked out just incase it is a clot. i kinda doubt it is..im just trying to make sense with what i know and with what info you gave me.

good luck!!

My husband had some penis/testicle pain recently, and it ended up being a low grade infection. There are a couple of things it could be.

If you have healthcare, I know it's embarrassing but you should really go get it checked out. Yes, they'll poke around his penis, but you want to know what this is. If it's just an infection, all he'll need is a round of antibiotics.

I know you've received some great answers that all advise seeing the doctor, but I wanted to make sure to tell you if he gets an erection that lasts over 4 hours (whether or not it's more painful than it is currently) he should go to the ER. penises need blood and if this is a vein thing, it could really cause some harm. Don't let him put it off too long; in fact, you could make the appointment yourself and inform him when he's going.

Unfortunately, that's what I have to do with my b/f. He hates the doctor and refuses to go unless I force him. Good thing he's more afraid of me if he skips the appointment than he is of the doctor. ;)

My boyfriend is the same way!! I tell him he's going to have to go anyway - might as well get used to the idea and deal with it, instead of being crabby about it! :P

he'd be much crabbier without a penis: http://www.ananova.com/news/story/sm_76570.html

I don't know if all the details are true but this does happen...only rarely but if he likes his stuff as much as most men, he'll whine and cry a little and agree to go.

Kevin almost *died* on our kitchen floor in January. Two days later he was rolling his eyes and acting like I was exaggerating his symptoms...like my over-reaction made the medics say his heart delta heart rythmn was gone and shock him. stupid boys. even when it's life-threatening, they act like we're nags.

<-- (Not the OP)

I was talking about going to the doctor in general (if he's had the flu for two weeks ... or that time he had an infected toenail) - my boy is good about going if it's anything related to his "boys" - just never any other time. =)

Oh, sorry. My boy is no good at all. He even *pretended* to go to the doctor once but when I found out he didn't (he didn't cancel appt just didn't go so they called me), he "forgot." Now his doctor is on his case, too, so all I have to day is "I'm going to call dr. x" and he huffs like a kid, "FINE!" It's one of the few things we fight about. I find it so strange because as soon as he thinks I'm coming down with something he suggests I see th doctor. silly boy.
