ow ow ow ow ow damn you DivaCup!

so i got my DivaCup last night and tried to use it this morning. and the damn thing nearly ripped me up! it was so weird. i'm not a virgin but for some reason i couldn't get it inside of me and the cup popped back open before it was all the way in and whatever might have been left of my hymen is ruined. i tried a couple of times and it hurt too much so i gave up for the time being. i don't know how to get the stupid thing in and it hurts. i was so excited to use it. and then it hurt my vag!

does anyone have any ideas as to how i can get the stupid thing in??

i also bought sea sponges and those things are way bigger than i thought...

I hacked the stem all the way off mine, so in order to get ahold of it I stick my index and middle fingers inside (might be a little tough to get all that in there if you still have a hymen!) and pinch the cup between them, then I bear down while pulling it out. Once the bottom is far enough out, I change my grip so that I've got it between my forefinger and thumb of my right hand, and then I use my other hand to break the suction. To do that, I press on the side of the cup until it collapses (sometimes it makes a little gasping noise), then I make sure that the cup is kind of partly folded up as I pull it the rest of the way out.

The trick is to not pull it out while it's all the way popped open. Try using your other hand to fold it up a little and then take one side out at a time. While you're still figuring out what works best, I recommend doing it in the bathtub so that you can stand/sit/crouch/whatever's comfortable, and if you make a mess while you're getting the hang of it, clean-up is easier ;) Really you just have to get it out by any means necessary the first few times, and the finesse will come later!
