I'm sorry I'm such avid poster lately usually I don't have problems.

But last night was my fourth night using the 7-day cream I bought for my yeast infection. I no longer have a painful, red, swollen vagina. Andmy discharge has gone back to normal and the itchiness has died down a little bit I'M STILL ITCHY! is this normal for the itchiness to be one of the last symptoms to go away? I'm not itchy at all unless I'm naked. For example, in the shower or when I go to sleep. And I'm only itchy on my clit and right at the opening of my vagina. Not inside or anywhere else. Is the medication working? If everything thinks it's not working I'll go to the doctor. Also, my periods coming. I heard periods flush out your vagina and help clean things up. Truth? If so will that help relieve me a little? Thanks and sorry again for being annoying but you ladies help soooooo much.<3.

I have the exact same problem..

I suspect its from all the itching, the skin is irritated and it may take a few days to heal from scratching.

When I last bought Monistat it came with a little tube of cream for the itching. Did yours come with that? It really helped a lot. You can try diaper rash cream, that should work also.

Its probably like with a cut or scratch- sometimes they itch while they are healing which can be really annoying. A lot of time there is a little more cream then needed so you can use it externally during the day- some YI treatments have a seperate tube of anti-itch stuff too. It is also possible to have internal (vaginal) and external (vulva & clit) so if enough of the medication isn't transfering to the outside areas to treat the yeasties there you can still have a problem. It sounds like the treatment is working but it can take the 7 days for all the symtoms to go away (even with one day or three day treatments).

Yup

That is exactly what happens to me, everything goes away, but the itching stays until the very last application. It must be that the medicine has killed ALMOST all of it, but needs those last three days to get the last of it. Actually, sometimes the external itching lasts for up to 2 days after the seventh application with me. I think it is because the skin is so irritated. I have found that the best thing ever for external itching is tea tree oil. You should dilute it with a few drops of olive oil if you have sensitive skin. It feels very tingly at first, and then cool relief...
