ladies, could you please share your hymen breaking experiences?

I think this is mine:
when i was like 10 or 9 or 8 i fell off my bike and hit the seat pretty hard and my vulva hurted.
Well, when i went to the bathroom there was a half dollar sized spot of blood on my panties.
I put them in the laundry and my mom asked me if i had started my period.
i told her no, she said she was just curious b/c she noticed some blook in my underwear.

so, that must have been it??

I did not bleed the first time i had sex, either.


who has actually bled the first time they had sex?

ironically, mine didn't break ever when i was with my first boyfriend. however, it did break when i was fooling around with my girlfriend, whom i'm still with. odd how things work out that way.

What I'm curious about is...since it's a stretching rather than an actual tearing...could it stretch back to normal if not messed with for a while? The reason I ask is, my fiance and I have been sexually active for 4 years, and have only ever been with each other. I have never bled or experienced pain during sex. Well I left last fall to go to grad school across the country, so we didn't have sex again till Christmas. I had masturbated only my clit, never inserted anything. And when we had sex, it actually hurt a little. It just felt too tight and I had to make him go slow for a while. That's never happened before. If anything, I'm too loose and that indicates he needs to do more "preparation" but I've never been so tight it hurt.

So I'm thinking either 1) it's just because I was so aroused after not having had sex in four months or 2) my hymen kind of stretched back out or something. But that wouldn't make much sense since it wasn't stretched/broken the first time we had sex. (although he HAD done plenty of fingering up to that point and maybe that helped prevent it) I don't know, I'm just curious. We joked about how my virginity had probably grown back b/c I'd been away so long...but now I'm wondering omg, did it?? lol

I find that anytime I go a little while without sex (I'm talking like, several days), I feel a little too tight at first and we have to go slowly for a minute or two. I think it's just vaginal elasticity at work, though I'm not really sure.

I bet you didn't have a hymen any more by the time you had sex for the first time, or else it broke without any pain. Hymens can break without pain or blood, and it could have happened when you were a kid. But no, your hymen doesn't reappear if you don't have sex for a while. I know it seems like it sometimes, though. :)

i dont believe i've ever had a hymen. i've always been able to insert things in there. i know cuz i probed with my finger when i was maybe 2 and there was no blood. i guess that was my first time masturbating.

I never noticed anything tearing when i was a little kid, although I suppose it was possible, as I was quite active. It was only very slightly uncomfortable with my first boyfriend (no blood), who was average sized (about six inches and average width, too). Then the third guy I was with was humongous...like almost 9 inches and thick, and I bled a little, not a lot. Maybe it was partially torn before and then tore more? For a second he implied I had misled him about my past experience for some reason, but I really wasn't a virgin by that point, not by a long shot. But I guess he wasn't super experienced either or else he would've been used to "overextending" women at that size!

I just wrote about this in a seperate discussion, but I suppose I'll write about it here too. when i was 5 and in kindergarden, i was climbling the jungle gym outside of my classroom. i remember climbing up super high, and placing my legs on two bars, and then one was directly below me. anyhow, something happened and i lost my balance. i slipped and *ouch* fell smack dab on that bar that was below me, right between my legs really hard. i remember that being the most pain i have ever been in, between my legs. so i think that was when i ripped it.

years later when i had sex for the first time, there wasn't any blood or anything. however, the years leading up to my first sexual experience where filled with fear of hurting my vagina and feeling pain like that again.

I don't believe I ever had one, or much of one, anyway. I didn't know about hymens until some time after I had used tampons and masturbated, ah, internally, and I don't recall having had any problems with either of those two activities.

I never had a hymen. At least - I've been penetrated by things just as big as a penis - and never felt anything and I know my way around my vagina very well. Never found anything remotely resembling a hymen. @_@ kinda makes me feel like i missed out on an experience?

I actually bled twice. I was sexually abused as a child, and I bled A LOT that first time. Fast forward to a curious sixteen yr old finally working up the courage to insert something and voila a small smidgeon of watered down blood. So, I'm not really sure which time worked.

i was about 3 or 4 when i woke up one day with a drunk naked relative laying next to me.... i told my mom right away so she had to rush me and my sister to ER to see if i still "had my cherry."

i actually envisioned it more like a cherry shaped object that burts rather than a piece of skin that tears.

It's a membrane that goes over the opening to the vagina. It's right near the outside, so you'd be able to see it. Even virgins often have perforate hymens (meaning their hymens don't completely cover the vaginal opening), and tampons and stuff can fit through the opening without breaking the hymen. But many women are born without hymens, or have broken their hymens long before they can remember, or whatever.
