Another OTC Question...

I started on reg. OTC about 4 years ago when I was 17. I had never had sex at that point, and had just started dating my fiancee at that point in time. I had gone on the pill for reasons other than sex like: cramps, acne, and regulating my periods. It just played out that I started having sex about six months after I had started on the pill, but to this day we still use condoms. Last year, I was put on OTC Lo because I told my gyno that I was having headaches and the "oh-so-lovely" yeast infections. So, she switched me over to the OTC Lo, which is what I'm on now. I was just wondering if anyone on OTC reg or Lo has had any type of mood swings at all? I also have this feeling sometimes like I want sex more, but it's just not all connecting for me. Do you understand what I mean? It's like I really want to do it, but the light isn't coming all the way on for me. I was considering going off of it for awhile in order to see what my sex drive is like without it. If you all could give me any ideas on what type of pill will not affect my sex drive, I would love you forever! No, but seriously I would be very happy! :)

Every pill affects every woman differently. One woman could have decreased sex drive on one type of pill, and another woman could have increased sex drive on that same pill. Unfortunately, it may come down to guess-and-test. Talk to your doctor about the symptoms you are experiencing and perhaps s/he will be able to figure out a better one for you to try.

I don't know what pill would work for you, like the other person said, it depends on the woman. But I'm on OTC regular (they said I'm too chubby for Lo) and it hasn't affected my sex drive but I get the mood swings. It sucks. I'm going to talk to my gyno next month about switching.

OTC-lo completely killed my sex drive. I'm starting LoOvral in a week, but I have no idea if it will actually help. *fingers crossed*

Try this. Different pills do have different types of hormones, and some affect sex drive more than others. Pills with higher androgen levels will affect your sex drive less. These are just general guidelines so may or may not apply to you, but are worth checking into.
