paranoia?

This doesn't so much have to do with the vagina, but with my ovaries and/or uterus. For many years now I've had on and off again pains on my right side, down near my hip bone. I kept telling my mom I had appendicitis, but she told me the place I was pointing to was more in the area of my ovary, plus the pains come in spasms and like I said, have been going on for many years. Now, does anyone think I'm being paranoid thinking that maybe I have an ovarian cyst or cancer or something? Should I get an appointment with my doctor? I've never had the pains when I was at the doctors, so I've never brought it up before. I had been thinking that maybe the pains I was/am having were when an egg was being released by my ovaries, but recently I found out that while you're on the pill you don't actually ovulate, so I'm thinking that can't be possible. And now I'm having pains on my left side as well. Very confusing. Any thoughts?

I don't think you're being paranoid. Just get checked out. More than likely it will be nothing out of the ordinary and you'll feel much better! I get those pains, too sometimes. I have never figured it out.

It might just be a random benign cyst..

One of my friends gets those in both of her ovaries, and some days they really hurt right there.
They're harmless.. just annoying and painful.
If they bother you too much, the doc can put you on birth control pills to help manage the cysts.

yes, go check it out! There are things like endometriosis.. not to scare you, just something you might want to be SURE about...

I have that pain everytime I ovulate and it switches sides. By the way - your mom is only part right about it being your ovary - your large intestine runs right behind it and if you are blocked up and your ovary is swollen (even though it doesn't release an egg doesn't mean it does not repond somewhat) you would really feel it.
Strange feelings in there - I was glad to find out mine was the egg bursting out of the ovary.
Oh and another thing to consider is that lots of people get pregnant taking the pill so maybe you are ovulating sometimes.
Unfortunately - western medicine studies more about cancer than female anatomy.
Take care!
