I'm giving serious consideration to "getting the downstairs pierced," as a friend put it. Specifically, I'd like to get my hood done first, just for an idea of what genital piercings are like, and then hopefully try to get my clit done. But I have a few questions:

-Can my clit be "too small" to get pierced?

-Will having a vertical hood make also having a clit piercing difficult?

-Are there any piercings that go through both the hood and the clit at once?

-While I know it can be uber-orgasmic, and just kind of mundanely orgasmic, I've also heard rumors it can
damage the clit and detract from pleasure. Is this true?

-I hate underwear. A lot. And I don't really wear uber-tight pants, but I do have a couple pairs with a seam that rides close to the crotch. Should I consider wearing underwear, at least with these pants, to prevent snagging?

-To anyone who has both a nipple and a clit piercing: is the pain comparable?

-Personally, my clit is too small to be peirced. In fact, I am so small, my peircer wasn't sure she'd be able to peirce my hood. But she managed, and I love her for it.

-I have never heard of a peircing that goes through the clit and hood at once, but that doesn't mean it has never happened, nor does it mean that you and your peircer can't be the first.

-I have been told that over time the boy gets used to the feelings of having something there, and thus becomes less orgasmic. I have no expirence with this as yet, but since I have a hoop in my hood, I can also adjut the amount of pressure on my clit by moving the ball up when I am not into direct simulation.

-I would recomend underwear the first two weeks or so while healing, regardless to prevent snagging as well as staining. It may bleed a little, and it is better to get blood on a pair of $2 underwear than on pants. As for the tighter jeans, try with underwear the first time, and if that goes well, then go without. My hoop doesn't extend past my lips, so it really isn't too much of an issue. But I also wear only baggy clothes, so I am not a great authority on this.

-I've had my nips peirced in the past, and I have to say, my hood was much more plesant. My hood didn't hurt as much, didn't get rubbed as much, and healed faster.

the piercing commonly called the "clit" piercing is really a hood piercing.
actual piercings through the clitoris are rare....

are you thinking of a triangle piercing?
that goes under the clitoras's bundle of nerves...

yeah, having lived with a piercer, it is most ocmmon that unless you specifically want the clit pierced (which does have potential to hit nerves, kill them, loose a small bit of feeling,etc) most people mean they want their hood pierced. Many times a direct clit piering is too much sensation for a woman, whereas a hood piercing is more of a gentle rib on the clit all day.

I have my hood pierced but I would NEVER pierce my actual clit. Just to warn you, a triangle is VERY hard to do right and you might not have the anatomy for it. I have heard WAYYYYYY too many horror stories. Luckily, the piercer I am having do mine was an apprentice to the apprentice of the woman that did the first trinagle. She is also the president of the APP.

From what the good folks at piercing said, a triangle piercing penetrates the hood and the base of the clitoral shaft. And apparently the clitoral pressure from behind is unattainable any other way. Which makes it rather tempting. ^_~

I'm pretty sure you're just talking about the hood, as piercing the actual clit is something very, very few people can or would do.

Getting the hood pierced is nothing, pain-wise. my nipples hurt a zillion times more to get pierced than my hood.

Hey, I'm thinking of a clit/hood piercing as well (just had a kid, I'm used to people pokin' and proddin' down there). I don't know what to get, I know a girl who's got a vertical barbell right above her clit, and a ring in her hood. I'm thinking about the barbell, I don't know about getting my hood pierced, I'd be paranoid of it ripping out or something.

I'm worried about over-stimulating the clit as well (the barbell would rub against it a lot).

my nipples hurt like crap, and played up for a while, but my vert hood felt fine and normal by the time i'd got my pants back on.
it was a little sore for a couple of days, but now, 3months on, its fine.
i found it nice and easy to look after. whereas my nipples are 7months old, and still occasionally annoy me.

Yeah, I've had my nipple ring for nearly 3 years now and once in a blue moon it'll get sore or ooze a little bit. And I love BME; the friend who did my nipple in high school was a piercing fanatic and got me hooked. We noticed that her mom's license plate coincidentally had BME in the sequence and felt very cool. ^_^ And thanks for the comparison in the two types of piercings. Right after I had my nipple done I was walking funny all night, sort of angling my body and sticking my left boob out ahead of me, lol.

I dunno about too small- but mine's pretty dinky..I had my hood pierced, rather than clit, cause I'd heard it can deaden the nerves. In my own personal experience, hood was pretty nice, for a few weeks, til I got used to it. Of course, after that, if I crossed my legs juuuuust soooo...niiice.;-)
As far as the clit-hood-etc, vs the nipple piercings- nipples were way more painful for me, in the way that, well, I got the first one done and I nearly came in my pants, but it huuurt soooo good, and maybe the second hurt more because I was anticipatin it so? Not sure. The hood though, it wa just like, clamp, spear OW! DOne.

yes. as everyone else said, triangle piercings aren't for everyone.

do you mean a triangle piercing, then, or a clit piercing? if it is a clit piercing, i believe it could be possible, although i'm not sure i'd want to make such a delicate piercing more complicated than it already was. if it were a triangle piercing, i doubt it.

the deal on hood piercings and sensation: when you first get it done, if the jewelry is large enough, it is like being touched all of the time, although too lightly to really quite feel it consciously. it wasn't super orgasmic for me, but it did make me want to wank all of the time. after a while, your body gets used to its presence, and you no longer experience that constant sensation. your body does not lose sensation at all when you are actually being touched by yourself or someone else. in fact, it continues to make orgasms more powerful for many people. a clit piercing or a triangle, from what i know, does have the potential to damage nerves.

you will probably want to wear underwear until it is done with the initial healing stage. but i usually wear boxers or go without, and i've never had a problem. i wear boy trousers, though, which are never as tight in the crotch as girl trousers.

hood piercings are a very quick, sharp pain. i enjoyed getting that one done a lot. nipple piercings were much less pleasant for me.

a note about genital piercings: no one else's description will accurately describe what your piercing feels like. in retrospect, you will feel that we all failed to mention something you would have thought was relevant, or that we all warned you about something that actually turned out to be your favourite part. as all girl-bodied people have very different ways of experiencing sensation and orgasm and all of us have very different shapes, throwing a piece of metal into the mix is going to produce wildly different effects. (how cool is that?) also, i'd recommend that you learn about safe gauges and things before going in to get pierced. i trusted my piercer to know that, and he used jewelry that was far too small. getting it stretched later was fun, but i would have preferred a competent piercer, and to have been more knowledgeable myself.

I am a piercer, and have been doing so for over 4 years. In my experience, I have NEVER had anyone want a "real clit piercing". The poster above is correct in that most people who say that they want a clit piercing are referring to the clitoral hood.

If this piercing is done correctly, you feel a slight pinch(some woman have been know to climax), and it's over.

I personally have a vertical hood piercing, and it was virtually painless, and healer very quickly.

Triangle piercings are wonderful if you are "built properly", but many woman cannot get them.

I have never personally seen anyone who's "parts are too small". I am build very compact down there, being that my inner labia are very small, and you do not see them or my clitoral hood "poking" out through my outer labia.

I recommend going to a well recommended piercer to have this done. Don't go to a hack shop that does a "$20 for any piercing". Pay the extra cash, go to a reputable shop, and clamps should not be used during a female genital piercing. The piercer should use a receiving tube or nothing other than the needle.

I hope that this long and exhaustive post has been some assistance to you and any other poster or reader considering a genital piercing.

Thanks for your help. I know the difference between the clit and hood piercings, and I really wasn't all that inclined to get my clit done. I'll probably go with the vertical hood. (Incidentally, I checked at the site for the Association of Professional Piercers and did locate a guy I'm acquainted with, used to pierce a former friend of mine, so I was right there to watch him poke two or three holes in the kid. His shop is wonderful and reputable; I'm glad I knew about this site before going anywhere else. Just gotta make sure he's comfortable with genital piercings, since I know some bodymod artists like to avoid ze tender bits.)

Went snooping on your info page ^_^ You know, Ohio's not too far from me. Your post made me feel so much better about this whole thing that I wish I could drive up there and have you pierce me, lol.
