When it's bleeding, my yoni seems to me nothing so much as some strange, hairy, and totally alien creature, that enjoys making my whole body ache.
If I read one more feminist or spiritual text extolling the virtues of "women's moon times" I'm going to SCREAM!

Date: 2002-07-08 08:52 pm (UTC)I love being a woman, save for the painful and messy bleeding each month.
A lot of nuns I once knew actually MISSED having their periods.
What are they thinking?

Um... Don't!!
Date: 2002-07-09 08:16 pm (UTC)Much as I hate the aches, lethargy and messiness of my usual period, I've come to the conclusion that playing with my cycle is not an entirely clever thing to do. It's one of the reasons I'm no longer on the Pill - it gave me amennorrhea.
Re: Um... Don't!!
Date: 2002-07-09 08:20 pm (UTC)Because for me, bleeding heavily for 12 straight days wasn't worth all the "womanly experience" some woman tend to speak of.
The only good thing I got out of the pill was bigger breasts.

Date: 2002-07-10 07:20 am (UTC)To be honest, I used to think that "womanly experience" was bullshit, but earlier this year I actually had a good period - sex drive up, moodiness down, no skin breakouts, no bloating, and suddenly an enormnous amount of energy and inspiration! ee!
Damn, I want that again.
