I vote underwear. To reduce friction on your sensitive girlie bits. Or better yet... pantyhose, no underwear. You can get the jeans on easier (especially if you buy the kind of pantyhose that are a bit shiny... y'know, with a sheen), avoid pantylines, and avoid having your labia crushed by the inseam of your jeans. :)
A proper-fitting thong is no big deal, in my opinion. I'd go with that over nothing, just because tight jeans sound like they'd chaffe. But if you're dine with it, just don't rewear the jeans afterwards....
You could try boy-leg briefs, or whatever they're called these days, where they are reasonably tight but the hemline falls below the bottom of the butt.

I was about to suggest those, they are so comfortable, show no panty lines and let your vagina breathe (assuming they are made of cotton).
According to the author (or is it authors?) of the V Book any kind of panties are OK unless the woman has recurrent vulva issues, in which case with cotton briefs/bikinis are recommended.
I wear the occasional pair of tight jeans and wear my normal, everyday panties. I don't have to wear anything special to do so, and no one can tell I'm wearing a pair of panties. :)
I know that they are supposed to = bad, but I wear nothing else and I have never had any problems with infection etc. Try to make sure that they are cotton for long wear and try to sleep sans panties if you are worried about problems. As for the look of things, I think thongs are the best for tight jeans. I hope that helps! x
Oh, I wear thongs all the time, I've just heard that wearing them with tight jeans doesn't allow your skin to breathe well, and combine that with the fact that it can also wedge the string in your butt, it can lead to UTIs, yeast etc. I always sleep nekkid anyway, so no worries there. :)
