Cramping, spotting...need advice

Good afternoon, everyone. I need some advice...

I had my period 2 weeks ago. It was normal. A few days after it ended, I began spotting and cramping (I usually only cramp for the 1st day of my period). I called my Doctor, and they advised me to take a pregnancy test. I did, and it was negative. (I'm on the pill...but I may have missed a couple of days at the start of a new pack a month or so ago). The spotting lasted 2 days, but the cramping has continued. I'm beginning to get concerned because this never happens to me, but my Dr doesn't believe that anything is wrong.

Has anyone else experienced anything like this?

Sometimes that happenes to me, my period will end and then in the next few days I might get some spotting and pain but then it goes away and I'm fine. It doesn't always happen but I don't think it's anything to worry about. x
