I eventually HAD to go to the doctor for my yeast infection (that is what it was after all, I was right) after I had been up since 4:00 am in total misery the other morning. He gave me a perscription for that pink pill and it seemed to work amazingly. No itching at all yesterday (I took it yesterday around noon), and none today until aroung 5:00 when I came home from work. Then I was all kinds of itchy again. -_- It's subsided after a warm bath and some vagisil cream, but should I be worried or is this normal? I'm so paranoid it isn't going to go away like it should.

What I think might be happening is that the pill isn't suitable for you. I guess it just covered up the symptoms for a while but they reappeared. You should try some of the "home" remedies. As strange as this may sound, I've heard that inserting a head of garlic into the vagina works miracles (tie a string so you can pull it out eventually). I hope that helps!

In the past my doctor has given me Diflucan with one refill, because she told me that sometimes just one pill doesn't do it. So you might want to call your doctor back and say that it came back to get another pill.

are you wearing all cotton undies. if youve been at work all day in poly undies then of course your vag is gonna be itchy. the diflucan may have not worked right the first time. so your doc can re prescribe it. have you tried any home remedies for it yogurt popsicles work nice as well as garlic cloves and genetian violet (though quite messy)

Diflucan (the pill you were given) often doesn't work, at least not the first time. It's not really the best solution to some yeast infections, so I'm not sure why it's so commonly prescribed...I guess it's the convenience factor. It's also pretty hard on your internal organs (my doctor mentioned that it was pretty taxing to your liver), so my personal opinion is that it's better to use something else.

Oh, but keep in mind that it can take a few days (I think it's a week) for the Diflucan to work fully, so if it hasn't been that long that could be why you're itchy, too.

7 day miconazole creams (like Monistat or the generic ones) seem to work best. Sometimes, a 1 or 3 day treatment will work too, but not always, and it's better if the infection is mild. I usually use yogurt, but if that doesn't work I will use a cream and just use yogurt for a night or two at the end.

If it's still itchy today, you might want to try a home remedy like garlic or yogurt yo supplement the Diflucan, or buy yourself some acidophilus supplements and start taking those (you can also put one in your vagina to get the yeast-fighting good bacteria in there directly.)
