I remember reading a post and/or comments not too long ago talking about plucking the pubic hair of the vagina. When I first read about that I cringed. The thought of plucking my pubic hair was frightening. But then after thinking about it, I began to get curious. I pluck my eyebrows religiously(obsessively actually, ha!). So I finally had the courage and built up the nerve to try it.

It wasn't bad at all. It was just like plucking my eyebrows. It felt a lil weird at first, but you get used to it (like your eyebrows). I'm hooked. Although the process takes a long time depending on how you want your vagina to look(I'm still not done and I've spent the past 45 min plucking away), look at the pros...no razor burn and bumps, no hot wax, and most of all it's free!

To those of you who pluck: about how long does it take you to complete your grooming? Does soaking in warm water make it any easier? Are there any cons (ie ingrown hairs)? How long before you pluck again? Any tips would be greatly appreciated! Thanks in advance!

I've started doing it here and there, and I think it's fun. But I don't think I'd have the time or patience to use that as my only hair-removal method (I'm quite the monkey).

I plucked only the top part once because plucking the labia HURTTTTTT, and it took me a couple of sessions throughout two days. I remember all the work put into plucking every little hair was not worth the two weeks it lasted, so I stuck to waxing haha.

yeah, i think i first heard about it on here from cailin_t. i actually tried it the other day and it wasn't so bad. at first i was just messing around and didn't do the whole thing, but i think i'll try again some other time. i,too, pluck my eyebrows at the first sign that they are coming in! i think i'll just stick to shaving, until i can spend the quality time on plucking. :D

the whole thing takes about 2-3 hours, depending, the first time. after that, you need to do some *upkeep* for about 10 minutes every three days or so. and yes, always do it after a bath or shower! and no.. ingrown hairs were a problem for me with shaving. i have not gotten ONE since i started plucking.

Are you plucking your entire vulva bald?? Seems like it would REALLY hurt on some of the more sensitive spots. I DO pluck my eyebrows though, so I may have to try it.
Also, the idea of being able to make ore prcise designs without worrying about removing too much hair here or there with a big old razor, sparks my curiosity.

I've tried plucking a few times. But it takes sooo long that I had started to get curious about waxing which I would like to try if it didn't cost so much. Can anyone tell me if its possible to wax oneself? or has anyone had their B.F. or S.O. do it?

When plucking I found that the upper area (which was always the most irritated by shaving) was easiest and least painful to pluck, and the lower, labia, bits were the more painful (and had always been easier to shave) bits to pluck.

I pluck down there fairly often. I actually find it quite enjoyable... but maybe that's just me :)

I found after a while of doing it religiously my hair started coming in thinner and was even easier to pluck. I usually just use it to clean up my bikini zone and around the mons... I'm too much of a wuss to pluck my lips :P

Yay to caitlyn_t for spreading the idea that has quickly become the new hot thing! This could be TMI, but I keep my tweezers by my computer while I'm waiting for webpages to load *stupid dial-up* ;) I shave the harder-to-reach spots, but it's sort of inspired me to try waxing sometime when I actually have some source of income. The hairs I have plucked have grown in lighter, finer, and easier to pull out. I never actually "complete my grooming," as I have a lot of hairs and I don't ever seriously devote a big chunk of time to it. I just pluck whenever I have a few free minutes. It's almost theraputic. A few ingrown hairs, but exfoliating every other day or so helps a lot. It's not quite as smooth as it was when I did it the first time, maybe that's because my on-again off-again plucking has left a few different "layers" of hairs instead of getting rid of all of them at the same time. It was definitly a lot easier when they were all the same length (long)...but I just can't wait, it's hard to quit!

I know, it's like an obsession! I enjoy it. I just did it the first time yesterday and a lil bit this morning and have yet to make it look presentable, but after reading all of the comments, I think a combo of shaving and plucking would work pretty good.

It would be so much easier if my boobs weren't so big! haha, they get in the way!

And I feel ya on the dial up connection. Hmmm...maybe I should go grab my tweezers and keep them here on the desk with me. hehe

A long time ago when I confess my pubic hair was long I got sick of it and plucked it all in a frenzy. I tried to keep it up, but got impatient and shaved. Also the re-growth is very uneven and one has to wait for re-growth to be long enough. I can't wait that long. I now shave.

I pluck when I shave and get bumps, the bumps go down faster and I don't get that same hair as an ingrown next time I shave.
