Hey ladies. Loyal reader here. Been around since there were 1200 superstars. :)

I attempt to keep up with politics and current legislation movements, particularly as they apply to women's rights and health. However, during the past few weeks and the past few political discussions I've had with my "conservative" fiance (Read, Republican) I find myself straining to remember vague references to things Bush has enforced while being in office as it concerns women's health.

I was wondering if:
A) Anyone could direct me to back articles concerning his actions on abortion - particularly the partial birth abortion fiasco which I have heard about 12 sides on, birth control, sex ed, etc. Just whatever you know of.
B) Any recommendations of sites you ladies read that keep up with this side of the political debate? My news sources (mostly mainstream) cover some of it (like the recent irritation and outrage that pharmacists are refusing to fill birth control orders on moral grounds) but I'm always interested in reading more. :)

Any help would be great. Just thought I'd ask.
May it be well with you.

I have always recommended www.moveon.org for interesting political information of the progressive kind. My partner's sister works there as well, and she says that their small staff is VERY dedicated.

The New York Times is mainstream, but also considered both liberal and exhaustive. Their website requires a registration but it's worth it.

I can also suggest the League of Women Voters. I am not sure how great their website is, but they're a wonderful organization. I imagine the site is located at www.lwv.org.

But overall, the most comprehensive source I've ever used on issues of pro-choice is www.naral.org, the National Abortion and Reproductive Rights Action League.

I forgot to say that I also think the BBC online is a good news source, as is The Guardian (both out of England). I have a good friend who is a columnist at TG, and he says that one of the best differences between The Guardian and the New York Times is that he's allowed to say that the Guardian tends to be somewhat progressive whereas the New York Times has to pretend they're totally unbiased.

try reading the war on choice by gloria feldt. it outlines alot of bush's stupidities relating to women's reproductions, all in one handy spot.

I like slate.com for political news and opinions. I think there were some good articles on there about how the Bush administration invented the term "partial birth abortion" to sway the public...the search function is pretty good, so check it out!

This isn't really a resource for political articles, per se, but I recommend www.vote-smart.org. It's an excellent resource for finding press-releases, transcripts of speeches, and voting records of senators and congressmen.
