There are ones you can buy now, that will give you accurate results up to five days before you miss your period.

depends on the test. first response, for example, can detect the "pregnancy hormone" five days before the would-be start of your next period after conception.

the ones that "can" detect the pregnancy hormone 5 days before your period may work, may not (just read the box--only claims to be something like 60% accurate). i took one of the early detection ones 3 days before my period was due and it came back negative...guess what! it was wrong. to save your money, wait til you miss a period. if you're like me, you're not going to believe it until after your missed period anyway.
