hey gals
i wrote the editor of this site asking for a more comprehensive list of birth control pills since i know mine (mircette) isnt on there. so tell me, what birth control pill are you on (if youre on the generic, please post the name brand) that way more women can learn about more of the different type of pills!

[edit:] if you are not on the pill, or on a different form of bc, please dont comment. this site lists the bc patch, ring, and iuds as well as depo. i asked specifically for pills, because that is where they are lacking in information.

I'm on Cyclessa and I can't find hardly any information on it, other than it's official site. I'd love to have some more information on it!

I'm on Seasonale for 6 more weeks until I switch to a Mirena IUD. There is no generic for Seasonale on the market yet.

I take Necon 7/7/7 (brand name Ortho-Novum 7/7/7). The brand name is listed on that page, but the generic isn't.

I was on Ortho Tri-cyclen, but I'm trying going off it for awhile, because I don't like being on birth control. In the past, I've been on Alesse, Marvelon (evil stuff, I react so badly to it), and even though it's not a pill, Depo Provera.

Was on Ortho Novum 1/35 for two months, but due to uncontrollable migranes, I switched to Lo/Ovral. It's the best. :)

I'm on Marvelon 21, but it comes in a 28 too. I'm not sure if that one is available in the States, though. It might just be a specific Canadian brand.

Well, here is my experience with it.

Pros: no acne
Cons: severe mood swings (I mean severe), about 10lb weight gain, water retention in the thighs and middle, yeast infections, and more mood swings.

It would almost seem that it's not worth it, but my acne was horrible. Nothing short of Acutane worked, and Acutane did not seem worth it.

Yeah, everyone reacts differently. You're lucky you don't get mood swings. And I just got my first yeast infection ever after about 7 months of using OTC-Lo. So I don't know, just watch out for them because I didn't even know they were common on this BC until my doctor told me.

I'm taking Trinessa, it's the generic form of Ortho Tricyclen.

Gained some weight on it and am desperately trying to switch birth control due to crazy mood swings and SEVERE depression.

I'm on Yasmin, but have taken Alesse and Ortho Tricyclin-Lo in the past (I switched to Yasmin because after about a year of OTC-lo I mysteriously started spotting and having two periods a month). So far so good with Yasmin. I don't really have any complaints.
