Ive heard the term "ghost period" used before, what does this mean?

I don't know it either, but my best guess is the period when you are on the pill. As it doesn't serve the real purpose of the pill, getting the egg out of the body.

weird....ive heard the term "silent period," and it seems to me to have the same meaning (a period with no blood, i think)
