this sounds so pathetic, but is there anything you can do about a really unhappy cervix? my husband and i tried this new position that wound up giving him WAY too easy access and he hit my cervix really hard and i can barely walk/sit down/move at all without incredible pain. this never happened to me before - how long does it take to "heal"? i have a job that requires strenuous exercise which there is NO WAY i'm doing in this condition.. thanks. :x

I've had pain but never for more than a day. The area is fast healing...if it does hurt longer then say 12-24 hours call your gyno.

i don't have/want a gyno, lol. but thanks.. it's only been like 10 hours at this point, so i guess i'll just sleep and see how i feel in the morning! i'm really glad you didn't say something like "oh, about a week.. " that made me happy.

i've mentioned this quite a few times now because no one can imagine that a woman can survive without a gyno, but amazingly, it's possible, lol. i have many reasons, most of which are personal or religious.

there are no religious reasons (that i know of anyway, lol) for not having a gyno specifically, but there are plenty for not having any version of any type of doctor whatsoever.

No, the pap smear one. Every time that you mention that you don't see doctors (thus don't see gynos) everyone jumps you for not getting paps. I was making a joke because I've seen this a few times lately and you must be either really annoyed or just throwing up your hands and laughing at people for thinking they know what you should do with your body (Heck, I've been one of them when I posted the whole "midwife instead of doctor" spiel a day or two ago, but I was hoping that you'd take it as it was meant - a suggestion not a "You've got to get a pap, dearie, it's mandatory to live in this great world of ours or the sky will fall!")

I'll be honest, I do think women should get a pap at least every couple of years. I just happen to have this "ridiculous" belief that each woman should also be entitled to make up her own mind as to what happens to her body. And that means that she can do (or not do) things, regardless of my personal opinion of how they should be done. And you've stated repeatedly that this is *not* something that you believe in or will get done, so that's fine.

I haven't checked, but I've wondered – do you always get "new" people telling you to get pap or do the same old tired handles pop up each time? I can think of at least three occasions you've posted that you don't go to doctors, and you got jumped each time…

it's always but one time been new people - i think if i post again in the future, i will leave a disclaimer explaining it, lol. that one time, i deleted the comment because the woman was absolutely obnoxious and said things i simply deemed inappropriate.

Contrary to the Bush administration's administration, there are a few of us left in the US who do believe that women should be the ones to make choices regarding their own bodies! *hopefully* Bush won't have a say over my body for much longer (of course, it'll take time to get rid of his legacy…)

That happened to me once.. my cervix got hit hard enough that I was still sore the next day (and bled a bit too) but the most extreme pain wore off while I was sleeping. damn cervixes :x
