So trip to gyno.

Okay, the losers called us six weeks ago to plan an appointment for my ANNUAL. Show up, and I guess it was just a check up. I didn't get a pap smear or nothin'. Thank God (I guess) that I had a yeast infection so that at least the trip was worth SOMETHING.

Lady gave me Diflucan. You guys, it's great. I took my last one 30 hours ago or so, and I'm already feeling much better. One thing though - - it's that sort of pill that dissolves in your mouth, before you can even take a drink to wash it down with, so it's got a funny after taste, but it works. :)

But it was so embarrassing. Mmkay, just so you all know, I've been victim of child molestation, so I picked a girl doctor. Thought it would be weird to have another adult man down there. But with women, it's just as weird!!

She took one look downstairs. You should have seen her face. It was like... disguist, and then she said those words.

"Oh my God, that's definitely a yeast infection. This is one of the worst I've seen. It must be painful!"

No, it's soothing, like a nice warm bath.

Eh, you guys are prolly all wondering why I didn't just tell my mom I was itchy a week ago. I'm 16, and since the "incident" we don't tend to talk much about my downstairs unless absolutely required. Simply because we don't have that open of a relationship to talk about sex and things.

But you guys, you still didn't see Dr. Han's face. ;_; I was DEPRESSED. :P

when i was in high school, about 16 or so, my boyfriend and i were walking around one of my favorite places in the woods. being high school kids, we decided to get a little frisky.

maybe an entire day later (ha) i start noticing this rash on my leg. it itches. it's spreading. i eventually cave and go to the doctor. (by now it has spread from my ankle all the way up to my yahoo and was oozing puss everywhere...)

he walks in, takes one look at me and goes "whoah! that's the worst poison ivy i have EVER seen! here's your prescription!" he wouldn't even come near me, lol. should have seen HIS face.

and to this day, even my own mother cracks jokes that always end in "don't forget to bring a blanket!"

heheheheheh...

take care! ~tDb

Over the counter stuff works good -- I wouldn't even wait to see the doctor. I'd at least get started before clawing my bits off!

Oh and you said you didnt go swimming the other day, still, if you are prone to yeasties (or cottage cheese as denise and i call it. who's denise? best friend from hs. nevermind. ANYWAYS) just not wearing costume and letting your bits stew in unbreathable bathing suit material is enough.

If it was your annual, she may have planned on doing the pap smear and other stuff, but a yeast infection could have interfered with getting a good cell sample, or caused things to show up inaccurately on the pap smear...it's entirely possible that they'll want to reschedule your annual for a time after the infection has cleared up.

Ahhh - Diflucan is wonderful stuff!! No muss, No
fuss, NO MESS!! - Which was 'back in the day' that
you may be fortunately too young to remember; MONOSTAT
SUPPOSITORIES!! - YECCH!!! >:-Þ

I'm 'prone' to yeast infections - IF I've had to take an
antibiotic for anything; then I can just
count on getting one. FORTUNATELY...all *I* have to
do is CALL my Dr. & say, 'Diflucan, please', & they call it
right in.

I have the childhood sexual abuse issues too. I hope that
you have someone that you CAN talk to about it when you need
to...that's important.

Take good care of *YOU* - and avoid staying in a damp
swimsuit for any longer than you have to!!

I'd say you need a new doctor. I understand that you have an infection, but still....any gyno worth her/his degree ought to know that making nasty faces upon seeing your vagina (or any part of your body, infected or not) is unprofessional, insensitive, and downright uncalled for.

And we wonder why so many folks think vaginas are 'dirty'...

Although, I know she was a nice doctor, if a professional someone snarled at my vagina, that would be the last thing he/she would see.

I had my fist yi in March. Long story short, I had to go to the ER for it. The doctor had NO idea what he was looking at. He left the speculum in there hanging, resting where my lips were swollen. He consulted an obgyn and told me it was all the fault of The Keeper, that sponge I use. He had the nerve to get testy when I had to correct him 3 times that Keepers are made of rubber. In the end, he thought I had vaginitus and a yi at the same time (which is hard because they're opposites). He said he'd never seen anything like it. What a fucking moron. I hate him. No man will EVER touch my cunt again. the end.

I completely understand about not wanting to see a gyno. I was molested too, and the thought of having anyone touch me makes my stomach churn. I'm dreading my first visit, but your story has actually made me feel a bit better. Thank you.
