Weird bleeding

I always have had semi-irregular menstrual cycles. The start dates of my last 4 periods were:
9/27
11/3
12/14
1/9
The most recent period on the 9th of this month was strange to me. I've always been a light bleeder, don't typically wear tampons both because I don't feel like I need them and I don't like the feel. This time it was the same, normal light bleeding through about the 13th, then it tapered off into some spotting, which is also normal for me. HOWEVER, what wasn't normal, is that the spotting lasted DAYS. At least a full 5 days of spotting, which is absolutely out of the norm for my body.
However, the weirdest part is this. I woke up this morning, got into the shower immediately without peeing or anything, and when I went down with my hand to wash my vaginal area with some water, it came away completely bloody. Like, "first day period" type blood. I got out of the shower and peed and when I wiped, the toilet paper was also covered in blood. I had to put a pad in (again, not into tampons).
There is absolutely NO WAY that I am pregnant, so what the heck else could be going on? Why this "double period" thing? Could it be something else more worrisome? I'm also not on any form of birth control.
I had bladder cancer a few years ago, so my immediate thought when ANYTHING in the nether regions seems off, is "omg cancer's back/spreading/I'm dying". Can anyone reassure me that this is probably not the case and what's happening can be because of other things?
I'm going to call my gyno and ask her, but the offices aren't open yet, and by the time they are I'll probably be at work stuck in meetings. Hoping you guys can help in the meantime :)
