Hi guys,
I'm hoping you can help me. I'm 16 & I just recently noticed a small skin-colored hard bump on my inner vaginal lip. I've had my gardisil shots, so I'm assuming it isn't HPV. I am sexually active & have had only 2 partners. I got tested for STDs after I broke up with my boyfriend over a year ago & everything came back negative. I just recently, this past Friday ( 2/1/13), had sexual intercourse (protected) with my virgin boyfriend of 2 months. He's clean & as far as I know I'm clean. So I'm really wondering what this bump is. I told my mom I had it, but that I hadn't been sexually active lately because she's very judgemental about sex & I didn't want the run-down. She told me she has no idea what it is. I don't want to go to the OB/GYN because we're short on money & for some reason my INS doesn't cover those kind of visits. The bump is raised, hard, occasionally itchy in a burnt sense, & tender when touched. Can you help me?

A bit of history: 32 yr old Cis gendered female. Married w/ 2 kids.
I had my second child in 12/2010 got my period back in March of 2011. Normal cycles until August 2011 then my cycles in August, September and October were so heavy I was severely aenemic. After that they were "normal" ~ too heavy for one form of menstrual product for the first 3 days of a 5 day bleed. My cycles, though regular have been this heavy since November 2011. I suspect fibroids, even though they are not hereditary (both Mom and my maternal grandmother have/had them)

My question however is this: I have not breastfed my second child since January 2011, however I was fiddling with my nipples a bit this morning and noticed I was lactating. There is no possibility I know of that I could be pregnant. I have had regular cycles and my husband and I are using condoms w/ no breakage. I plan on calling my Ob/Gyn on Tuesday and making an appointment, but I figured I would bounce some ideas off of you folks. Any ideas?

Yay, it's Links Round Up time again!

The LRU is a compilation of items from the past week that may be of interest to VPers and is intended to broaden the kinds of conversations we have here.

To submit articles for next week's round-up, e-mail frolicnaked@vaginapagina.com. If you have additional articles you'd like folks to know about this week, feel free to comment directly to this post.

As a reminder, in lieu of trigger warnings, I use keywords describing the themes of the piece. Please skim these before deciding to read the excerpt or click through for the full article. Outside sources are not safe spaces, and mainstream source's comments should almost always be avoided. The links I highlight don't necessarily reflect VP's views, or even my own, for that matter.

And for those new to VP's parts, a few of our resources: [livejournal.com profile] vp_bulletins for local announcements; [livejournal.com profile] contact_vp for questions and feedback on the way VP is run; the Vulvapedia for basic questions; and don't forget about our sibling community over on Dreamwidth!

This week's round-up includes: the history of the birth control pill, talking about stillbirth, same-sex parenting, fat bias in public, and a regional history of menstruation.

Thoughts on any of these stories? Also, what have you been reading (or writing!) this week?

TO cut a long story short I have an extremely painful open sore at the top opening of my vagina. It is not deep (it does not bleed) but it HURTS. I would really like to know if anyone has a similar situation or knows how to make it heal.

I have a month until I can afford to go to the doctor, and I know I am STI-free (from my last test, no new partners).

I have severe anxiety, and scratch in my sleep. Even the smallest itch on my body will be scratched to oblivion in my sleep. It doesn't help that I also get allergic to certain soaps and shampoos, which makes my scalp and vagina a little itchy in the heat.

I know I scratched small areas open, one on either side, but they are much bigger now and join the the middle, under my clitoral hood. I do not think I scratched them bigger. I do run, though, so I thought maybe it was chafing?

I bought gloves to wear to bed, but there are no signs of it healing. Yesterday, I used salt water on it and it made it begin to have a kind of yellowish cover on it. Also on one side, there is a white dot. I am not sure if this is skin beginning to grow or what. I also use Vaseline to make it less painful when I go to the toilet (it is SO painful then) and when I run, to stop it rubbing.

I don't know what to do. I am at my wits end. Any help would be appreciated.

So here's the situation.

My bladder has been being a jerk.

The first most prevalent symptom I have is day one or two of my period, I empty my bladder and following that I have this HORRIBLE cramping bladder pain that lasts for about thirty seconds. It causes me to basically crumple on the toilet! My mom ALSO gets this problem, but NONE of my friends report anything like it.

The second, sporadic symptom I have is occasionally, usually but not always before my period, my bladder will have the cramps. It's like a sharp-tickly-annoying feeling, a little different then the period ones. Mom says this sometimes happens to her too, and it's what is currently plaguing me while  write this.

It has awoken me at night once, when I've held my bladder while sleeping. I wake up severely uncomfortable, and in pain. Movement exacerbates it. Urinating can be difficult.  Coincidentally, I also notice I have abdominal problems that accompany it, like diarrhea, but not always.

I have thought about it being many things. Allergy to foods, dyes, stress, celiac disease, lactose intolerance, endometriosis, pregnancy (which for some reason this time is my favorite, even though I just had my usual EXTREMELY heavy period 9 days ago, and never have sex without condom, spermicide, boyfriend doesn't get to finish inside, and only on my infertile days just before my period starts)

It does seem to happen when I eat a lot of gluten or drink red pop. But that could be me drawing conclusions where there are none.

Thoughts? What is this weird bladder issue, and why do (seemingly) only my mom and I get it?
