Hi VPers!

I come with a question. I have noticed a change in the way my menstrual blood looks and smells. It is a very dark..gray, almost. And honestly, it smells like poo. I am very confused - I have never had this happen before in my life. My period was also lighter than normal...while I do generally get lighter periods, this was SUPER light. Any ideas as to what this could be? I know that everyone is different, but I am hoping perhaps someone else has had this experience.

My period came a few days early this month because I royally messed up taking my BCP (Ocella, generic form of Yasmin) due to traveling. My husband and I did have sex a few times (sans condom) while we were traveling, and because I messed up my pills, I figure there is always a chance I could be pregnant. Could this explain the funky smell and color? I was going to take a pregnancy test just in case, but thought I should wait until my period was actually over.

I have no itching, burning, or otherwise odd-looking discharge or symptoms. I have been getting the normal aches and cramps that I get when I have my period as well.

I made an appointment with my gyno, but she can't get me in until next Wednesday.

Thanks for any input, superstars :)

Edit: I found an old tampon. In my vagina. No idea how old it is. I hope this is the culprit! I can't believe I did that!

So... I did a bad thing. I googled experiences with Seasonique, which my doctor just prescribed me today (although I wont start it until the 29th). I have awful anxiety in general and I have always been TERRIFIED of taking any kind anything other than antibiotics, whether it be birth control or pain killers because I am so afraid of the side effects or dependency/addiction. But I'm going to be moving in with my long-distance boyfriend in a month and quite frankly, the diaphragm sucks and is really inconvenient. So I figured I'd pull up my big girl panties and try the real stuff, until I read about never-ending periods, acne breakouts (which, along with weight gain, my doctor told me to my face would most definitely not happen on this birth control? Wut?!) The pharmacist already warned me that I'd probably experience some spotting while my body adjusts, which is fine, but... Weight gain and acne are the biggest reasons I have refused birth control - I just don't want to create any problems for myself, you know? I've never ever had any legitimate health problems (other than being quite overweight, although I have no problems and my health is otherwise perfect) and my periods have literally been regular since day one; they have consistently been five days long with cramps only on the first day. I've always considered myself pretty lucky in that aspect and now I'm terrified that my beautiful five-day-long period is going to turn into a months-long period from hell.

So I guess I'm just wondering if you all could share some success stories with Seasonique or the generics? Because now I kind of just want to throw the pack out and become a nun. :(

I performed oral sex on my boyfriend last night and woke up this morning to these fluid filled bumps (some actually had pus in them) below my chin. I do have very sensitive skin and this texture isn't always uncommon all of the time (sensitive skin) but I am freaking out right now. They don't hurt or anything. They're just...there. I have been tested prior to him and was negative for both types of HSV.

I don't know what I should think/do right now.

In the last couple of years since I have started actually tracking my menstrual cycle, I am noticing that about 2-3 days before my period starts I have what I like to call a “day of enlightenment”.  It’s a day where I can accomplish things. I feel excited about life and just generally happy. Today happens to be that day. :)

Does anyone experience the same thing? Does anyone know what causes this? I assume its hormone related. I would like to be able to figure out what causes it because I would like to keep the feeling for as long as possible.

Little background about me:

31 yrs old, regular periods, no BC currently, mild depression and I have hypothyroidism (treated).

Plan B

I took plan B June 23th, four hours after unprotected sex.
Got my period July 3rd, have a six day lighter than normal period but still a period. I emptied my cup twice a day only half full if that but it was still an obvious period.
Three days ago, started getting cramps and unusually tender breasts.

Impending period or should I rush to go get a otc test? I can't tell if it's ovulation of PMS at this point.
Any one else with similar experiences with plan b?

Hello, kittens!  :)

One big question and one little question.

Big question:  Every single freaking time I have sex with my boyfriend (at least once a week when we can manage it), I wind up bleeding afterwards.  I'm assuming it's related to my IUD (Mirena user since January), but it's not something I've heard a lot of other superstars dealing with.  It's very fresh, bright red blood that appears immediately after sex when I sit down to pee.  It's not a lot, but enough to make me wear a pantiliner so as to prevent ruining my underwear.  It's tiresome...

Background: 27/cis-f/nullip.  Mirena IUD since January.  Last pap in January, everything was A-OK.

Any insight, solutions, etc?  I'll X-post to IUD_Diva's also.

Now little question - less about me, more about the penis that goes in me and the man who belongs to it.

Does anyone have any insight or experience with a man with low Testosterone?  (Cis M/35 - Test levels of a 70 year old man due to opiate use after major surgery) - it's not affecting our sex life too much - his drive is OK, but he says that it's keeping him from going as long as he would like to.

Thanks kittens - as always, you're the best!  :D
