Kinda  a funny question, what do you girls use to wipe up after masturbating or sex?
are baby wipes healthier than a towel?
thanks..

So I started taking Kariva (the pill) this past sunday, the day my period started. I've been taking it every day, religiously since then, at the exact same time.

My question is this - My normal period is pretty heavy and bloody for about four days to a full week. However, This period lasted for all of two days with very light/minimal bleeding, and now I've been experiencing some discharge when I wipe after I pee.

It doesn't happen every time I pee, but maybe once every other day I'll get some pinkish reddish semi-translucent discharge on the toilet paper after I wipe. It's not a lot, maybe half a teaspoonful, but It's freaking me out. Is this normal? I'm really not sure :S

Hi all,

I posted earlier about my period being late. Ive been on Yaz for over a year and never missed a pill. I take it within 5 minutes of the same time everyday (even accounted for daylight savings time this month!). It's been 4 days since my expected period and I still haven't gotten it. Ive never missed a period before. I took 2 pregnancy tests and both came out negative. I also called my gyno and he said this happens sometimes with low dose pills and not to be concerned but I'm really starting to freak out. Have any of you ever fully missed a period on BC and not been pregnant? Or do you think it's likely the test just isn't picking up the pregnancy hormone because it's too soon to test?

Any feedback would be great- really starting to get scared

Thanks.

Ps I've also been traveling across country to visit a dying cousin- obviously incredibly stressful but not sure that would affect my period.

Is there a valid reason why BC comes in the cardboard and individually plastic wrapped containers?
I would like to pop out three of the pills and put them in an unused medicine container but I don't want the hormones in it to be affected.
I'm going on a trip and I don't want to explain to my mates that: yes I'm BC, no I'm not sexually active, and then it's for acne. Because anytime I do people get that grin on their face saying "Riiiiight".
I can't just hide it. The foil on the back is rather noisy. :(

Thanks!

Hello again!

While checking to see if a cyst had grown larger, my doctor felt what he called a 'nodule' on my cervix. I was bleeding heavily at the time, so he couldn't get a good look at it and he scheduled a biopsy for it for this upcoming Tuesday. Some quick questions for anyone who has gone through something similar:

*What is the chance of this thing being cancerous? I just had a pap smear in July, which came back normal. I've never had an abnormal pap. I do have pelvic pain fairly frequently, but I have monster cysts so I assume its from that.
*What should I expect from this biopsy? I know its being done in the office, so it can't be too bad, but should I plan to take the morning off work? The whole day? The doctor said I could probably go back to work right after the procedure but that everyone experiences the pain level differently. My boss said I could have the whole day off if I needed it, but I'm just unsure of what to expect.

Also, for a completely unrelated question: does anyone have any experience with treating ovarian cysts with clomid? I don't ovulate regularly due to the cysts, but we're trying to have a baby and I go to talk to the doctor about treatment options the day before my biopsy (fun...).

Thanks everybody!

hi :D I'd like to update on how things are going for me down south lol.
VERY WELL! My first period post op was a bit on the heavy side, but not too bad. (partial hymenectomy) I've been trying to loosen up down there by using my fingers and my boyfriend has as well. I even got two fingers in one time! (kinda proud about that xD) Last night we tried to have sex but I couldn't fit him and it hurt way too bad. So... I guess we gotta stretch it a bit more before we try again? Oh well, it'll happen. Thanks for all your previous comments :)

Hi everyone.

I was diagnosed with HPV last October. I hadn't been sexually active until this October when I met my now-boyfriend. I was never able to find out which type of HPV I had, but I have mild dysplasia.

I am going for a follow-up pap smear soon, but I noticed that as my boyfriend and I have been having sex, I am now getting little wart-like things on my vagina. I had these last year, and they went away, but this time, they're getting worse.

Now I've already talked to my boyfriend about getting tested, and we always use protection, even though I know HPV can still be spread with condoms.

Basically, does sex exasperate genital warts? It's frustrating that guys can't get tested for HPV and I also think my boyfriend has a little genital wart. I am terrified to bring it up even though we've already talked about getting tested, but I just don't really want to be like "Okay, so you have a wart, and I think you're giving them to me or making mine worse".

Does anyone have any advice? Since being diagnosed, I realize HPV isn't the end of the world, but I do want to be safe and avoid the spread of genital warts.

Thanks!

Welcome to our new weekly links round-up. This is a compilation of items from the past week that may be of interest to VPers.
As a reminder, in lieu of trigger warnings, I use keywords describing the themes of the piece. Please skim these before deciding to read the excerpt or click through for the full article. Outside sources are not safe spaces, and mainstream source's comments should almost always be avoided. The links I highlight don't necessarily reflect VP's views, or even my own, for that matter.

This week's round-up includes: CA schools must teach more queer and disabled history, Muslim and Catholic women build communities where saying "no" is normal, talking to kids about bodily autonomy, the Americanization of mental illness, trolling and rape threats on the internet, transgender woman protests cissexist DMV policies.

What have you been reading (or writing!) this week?

If you'd like to see an article included in next week's round-up, send me an e-mail at recidivist@vaginapagina.com . Non-US and positive links are especially appreciated. (I can't fit all the awesome links people send, but I'll try to post any that I don't include to Facebook, Tumblr, or Twitter.) You can also just take matters into your own hands and post in the comments!

hey ya'll
I need help finding/figuring out two things in London (specifically, nearish to King's Cross, so pretty central)

first- I'm polyamorous and now that I've started sleeping with a second person for the first time (yay! :), it's high time I stopped putting off getting a full sexual health checkup.  I'm new to London, and the UK, period, so I'm not entirely sure how the NHS works.  I'm registered at a doctor's office and I can make an appointment any time- should I just do that and go and explain that I want a full sexual health checkup, or is there a special clinic I can go to that someone could recommend? I'm in my late 20s- don't know if that's relevant.

second- Anyone know where I can buy a latex or otherwise non-silicone menstrual cup, locally? I'm quite certain that I have developed a silicone allergy :( it's pretty mild, so I don't get a reaction from toys or anything, but after a few days of using my diva cup, and more recently, moon cup, I get horribly itchy.  I know I could get a cup online but I'd rather just walk into a store and get one.

thanks!

Hey y'all--I've heard so many great things about VaginaPagina over on IUD Divas, and I'm hoping you can help me!

My skin is having its annual "so dry! so dry!" freak-out that I get every time around this year. I get dry patches on my torso and legs, and usually they are easy to treat with moisturizer and a humidifier. However, this year I ALSO seem to have dandruff on my pudendum. The skin over the top of what the Victorians so charmingly called the "mound of Venus" is red and itchy, with small flakes of white skin coming off.

I used to get frequent bikini waxes, but I've been crazy busy lately and I'm not doing it. So, it's possible that my longer pubic hair is somehow causing a problem. Over the summer I had a few splotches on my upper thigh caused by tinnea, but that was treated with an oral antifungal. This looks totally different but I know tinnea can sometimes give you weird flaking.

Any thoughts about what this is or how best to treat it are greatly appreciated. I am very allergic to topical antifungals (Lamasil, etc) and I'm allergic to hydrocortisone, so those are two things I need to avoid as I look for solutions. I was thinking of trying some Selsun Blue, but any thoughts would be welcome!

ps: For those of you thinking about birth control, I'm 34, no kiddos, and I LOVE MY MIRENA. It's been great for helping to treat my pathologically heavy and painful period. I can't take HBCs because of mood problems, but the very low levels of progesterone in the Mirena are working just fine for me. I love it and I'd encourage more folks to look into it!!
