Is there a valid reason why BC comes in the cardboard and individually plastic wrapped containers?
I would like to pop out three of the pills and put them in an unused medicine container but I don't want the hormones in it to be affected.
I'm going on a trip and I don't want to explain to my mates that: yes I'm BC, no I'm not sexually active, and then it's for acne. Because anytime I do people get that grin on their face saying "Riiiiight".
I can't just hide it. The foil on the back is rather noisy. :(

Thanks!

It's just to make it easier to remember whether you've taken your pill that day or not. =)

And to differentiate between placebos and the active pills. But yeah, you can pop them out and put them in another container. If you're flying, you may wish to drag the original packaging along, in case you're questioned by authorities. But I've flown with ziploc baggies of OTC meds and nobody's had a problem, so this may be paranoia.

For some types of HBC - triphasic pills - the concentration of hormones in the pills changes over the cycle, so it's important to take them in order. For monophasic pills the concentration of hormones is the same throughout. In both cases, it can be helpful for people to check whether they've taken that day's pill yet. :-) So if you're on a monophasic pill there shouldn't be any problem at all, and if you're on a triphasic pill, you might need to do a bit more research.

I'm sorry to hear you get that reaction from the people you know, by the way - I spent quite a bit of time on HBC for painful periods and can sympathise. :-(

Just so you know, BC pills aren't the only ones that come with a noisy foil backing. My cholesterol medication has it also. =)

But yeah, if its a monophasic, you can pop them out a few days at a time. I do it for my pill sorter.

Just an idea, but could you cut them off the main pill backing so that they are still sealed and will show the days of the week, but without any of the branding to show what they are for?

What about taking them in the bathroom? Considering you don't need to worry about mixing up pills the container should be fine, though (I've done that too). I'd only be concerned in that it makes it easier to lose them and some containers might let them get moist/damaged.
