Long story short: I was on POPs, had weird sharp pain that was diagnosed as possible ovarian cysts. Switched over to Loestrin (combined pill) one week ago (ended my last withdrawal bleed about 1 week ago too). Shouldn't be ovulating and have more than a week to go on my usual cycle before I get any sort of menstrual cramps (I usually ache in the few days before my period). Have been having mild but persistent aches in my uterus the past few days which don't feel located like normal period cramps.

At the appointment with my Doc they noticed I had a slight fever (1-2 degrees) which I hadn't noticed before, but I continued to have as escalating telltale fever headache for about 5 days afterwards (I don't own a thermometer). It went away on its own.

My doctor was iffy about a diagnosis but mentioned pelvic inflammatory disease as something possible just from hearing about the abdominal pain. I'm negative for Chlamydia and gonorrhea but get chronic YIs. From what I can tell, PID can basically be symptomless, and if I do have any symptoms they're just the weird aches, occasional tenderness in ovaries and cervix, and come-and-go fever, which don't strike me as definite PID traits. Can out-of-cycle aches be caused by a switch in birth control pills (though it's not on the Loestrin side effect list)? I can't understand why the higher hormone pills would shorten my cycle or cause new cramps, but is it possible? I'm just trying to decide if these are normal hormonal things or if I should hurry back to the doctor for more screening.

Hi guys - I noticed that a spot down on my labia was sensitive. I felt with my hand first and then with a mirror and it's a red line that feels like a tear. I think this has happened once before (yearsss ago) but I just wanted to check that this has happened to other people before. I had semi-rough sex on Monday night for the first time in two weeks and my skin is really sensitive. Does this sound plausible?

Last night, boyfriend and I had a condom break. He pulled out immediately and didn't ejaculate. I feel like we should be okay, but condoms are our only form of birth control and I'm approaching the most fertile part of my cycle (yesterday was the 12th day of my cycle, and though I'm not noticing any mid-cycle ovulation discharge, I should be seeing that any day - usually ovulate on or about day 14-15). Should I take Plan B or is it probably unnecessary since he didn't ejaculate? There shouldn't have been sperm in any pre-cum since he had just gone to the bathroom.

Thanks.

I apologize for this question not being specifically about vaginas (it's actually about penises!), but this community is just so active and knowledgeable that it seemed like the best place to ask :)

Specific background info behind cut )

So my question is, seeing how vaginas can get anomalies like yeast infections and bacterial vaginosis from variables like a change in environment, can similar things happen to penises as well?

ETA: The penis in question is indeed uncircumcised, which I see now may have contributed to this issue...

OK so I got up today and I am soaking through ultra absorbency tampons in 2 hours. I am not having any really bad cramps or anything, but I just feel gross because of this super super super heavy flow. I mean... it's like Niagra falls of blood up in here. Any suggestions? :( Bleh.

Twice in the past year, I've had unusual cycles and I'm not sure why. I don't have a regular cycle at all - it's always been irregular, and since I started tracking two years ago, my cycles have varied from 16 to 44 days. I've been tested for PCOS and the doctor says my DHEA, prolactin, and testosterone levels indicate that I don't have it. I do have Hashimoto's disorder, though, which can also contribute to irregular cycles.

The two cycles in question have been within the past year. In March, my period began on March 12, then on March 25, I had brownish spotting for about a day. My next period came on April 21, which is a 40 day cycle if I count from March 12. This past month, my period started on August 9, then on August 26, I had brownish spotting for about a day or maybe two days. then my next period just started yesterday on September 22, which is a 44 day cycle if I count from August 9. At the times when I had the brown spotting, I wondered if it might be BV because I had a slight burning sensation along with it, but in both cases, the spotting and burning went away before I did anything about it like schedule a doctor's appointment.

Does anyone here have any idea why this might be happening? I've read a bit about anovulation because I thought that's what it might be, but I'm not really sure this fits the description. I'm fairly certain that this has happened before, but at those times I hadn't started tracking my cycle yet, so I don't know the details. I've been on levothyroxine since January for the Hashimoto's, and I'm still trying to get my dosage regulated - the medication hasn't had any effect on my TSH levels yet.

Those are all the relevant details I can think of, and I'm grateful for any advice you VP'ers might have!

I'm nearing the end second week of my pill pack and decided that, with input from VP and research, that I was safe to have unprotected sex with my boyfriend. He finished inside me, and I put on a pad to catch any semen that dropped out in the course of the night (I had a meeting to go to). I guess I felt it sort of...not really gush out of me all at once but it came out sort of in two like, involuntary kegel exercises. I don't think I have to take Plan B, right? I mean, I should be protected...

I really hope I'm right on this.
