Period

Hi community,
I have a question regarding period length. Ever since I began menstruating, about nine years ago, my periods have been about 30 days apart, really never going below 27 or 28 and never above around 33.
Last month my period came in 25 days. I chalked this up to normal variability even though it was shorter than I had really ever experienced. But then, I got my period today, and it's only 21 days after my last one (since my period lasts around seven days, I've only had 14 days of period free life, ahhh!)

I'm wondering what could have caused this. Twenty one days seems extremely short... I must have ovulated literally right after my last period ended. I'm wondering if it's cause for concern at all. (not necessarily the short length, but the length coupled with the sudden change)

A little background: 22 years old, cis gendered, only ever been sexually active with STD free females. Don't take birth control and have been on no new medications. Not a particularly stressful time in my life either.

Thanks!!

Hello all,
Today i spoke with my doctor about getting the Essure procedure. She wants me to take LoEstrin 24 FE for the three months before the procedure is done, to thin out my uterine lining. How important is taking these pills? I have been on hormonal birth control before and hated it. I am also 30 and a smoker, so I am very very leery of HBC. Is there any way I can not take HBC before this procedure is done?

Also: The doctor is running a genetics test, as my mother and two of her sisters have had ovarian cancer. She says if the risk is high enough, they may "simply" remove my ovaries. As I understand it, this would cause menopause. Any advice? Experiences?

Thank you.

So I picked up some refrigerated Florajen Acidophilus from the health food store today. The woman working there suggested it for yeast infections. The only question I have is should I take it orally, or insert it? I've heard of inserting the refrigerated yogurt pills, but I'm not sure if this one is the right one?

I also picked up some tea tree oil for use on the vulva, but I'm not sure how many drops I should be using, and how much water I should be using to dilute it.

Thanks so much for the help!!

So, I just started HBC (Lo-Loestrin, but that's not really relevant to the post.)

And I was just wondering... I know that certain antibiotics can interfere with birth control, and some vitamin/herbal supplements can as well, but I wanted to know if other things can affect the effectiveness of HBC?

I know some of my family members can't have grapefruit juice, because it interferes with their meds, but I believe they're on meds for high blood pressure... are there any things like this that I should be aware of for HBC?

I have been getting cold sores for 2 years now, every 3-4 months and every single time, I worry myself sick about spreading them. Obviously, when I have one, I wash my hands all the time and use sanitizer, but the issue is that it takes a few hours before you realise you have one and you notice the blisters. During which time I've almost definitely changed a tampon or rubbed my eye or whatever else. I have a habit of touching my lips without realising. I'm turning into a nervous wreck and constantly checking whether I have a cold sore when I get up in the morning.

Unfortunately, this latest one popped up last night, about 5 minutes after I'd plucked my eyebrows. I immediately started to worry about getting sores there, and sure enough after my shower today, up popped a group of small bumps, one of which looks like a blister. What are the chances that I spread it? And am I overreacting by constantly worrying about this? Most people I know who suffer from HSV-1 just apply Zovirax and forget about it but it's ruining my life. The thought that I could have given myself herpes on my eye because I didn't check for a cold sore before I plucked is literally making me sick.

Hello all! So I started using the nuva ring on the 14th and that was the first day of my period. And it still hasn't stopped! That's nine days, and my periods are usually five tops. I know it's not a HUGE difference, but it's kind of annoying. I'm getting a light amount of brown blood every day, but not a discharge, enough so I have to wear a pantiliner. Do you think this is because of the hormones? Also is there a way to hurry a period along? I'd like to be bloodless by the end of this week because I'm going home for spring break and I'm gonna see my SO.

EDIT: Since I'm not getting cramps anymore, and it's probably breakthrough bleeding, will traditional remedies like exercise and orgasms (though I'm pretty bad at doing that myself) work?

For the past several months, I've been experiencing an extremely frustrating loss of sexual sensation. My sex drive is still really, really high, I have no trouble getting wet, and I'm generally the initiating partner, but actual stimulation feels like...nothing. It's almost like my clitoris and vagina are numb. My partner plays with my clit and he might as well be fondling my elbow. Obviously I have an intellectual understanding that there's a penis in my vagina, but from a physical standpoint, it doesn't feel like it. I used to come at least once virtually every time I had sex (I've even reached orgasm through nipple stimulation and kissing in the past), and now I think I've reached orgasm from partnered sex (PIV or oral) twice in the past four months, having sex at least three or four times a week. I've been with the same partner for the past six years.

I have a Hitachi Magic Wand, and I'm paranoid that I have permanently damaged something through excessive use, or at least accustomed my body to an intense level of stimulation that's impossible to replicate without toys. I've tried to self-impose a moratorium on the vibrator in case it's the culprit, but I get so frustrated not being able to get off from sex that I end up reaching for it afterward. However, I've found that it's even become difficult to get off using the vibrator. And I've never been very good at reaching orgasm through plain old masturbating-by-hand, and at this point it takes so much time and external stimuli (porn or erotica) that it's not worth the effort.

I was thinking part of this was due to the fact that my partner has not been trying very hard lately, but I brought up my concerns to him and he began making more of an effort to provide prolonged, intense stimulation and really put a lot of time into getting me super aroused, but despite this, I still couldn't get off.

I'm not on any medication or birth control, I've never been pregnant, I don't have any issues with sexual activity (I would say I'm less sexually inhibited now than I've ever been), and I would say my general stress level is at an all-time low. I don't understand what could be causing this or how to fix it--does anyone have any insight?

Hey hey,

So, basically I have horrible TMJD and have not been able  give my man a blowjob in a REALLY long time. I mean, it's been like 6 months.

I feel so bad. I am hopefully getting surgery for it at some point, but due to insurance troubles that won't be for another 2 months or so.

So...do any of you have any sort of advice? Ways to ease my jaw into doing it or something? Or any way to like, numb my jaw for a bit or something?

And while I know there are other alternatives, like handjobs with lube and stuff, we do that. The poor guy just reall y misses bj's and I don't blame him.

Any advice at all is welcome. Thanks!
